I Thought, You Thought
Summary: We were talking…. Cookie to you if you figure out who this is about! (I think it is obvious, but I am the author.)
We were talking. Mindless chatter, endless noise. I was telling him, "It's the story of my life."
He was telling me, "I know. I know your husband very well."
I told him then, "He's everywhere."
He told me then, "I see him. I see him every night, from where I am."
I sighed. "I've never talked like this before, not to anyone."
He sighed. "I've never talked like this either. I'm usually much more loud-spoken, much more loud, not so poetic."
"I've never talked about my husband before, either. He scares me. He never used to scare me." I said, with a frown.
"He would scare a lot of people. He would never scare me. I thought I knew the man."
"I married him. I thought I knew him too."
