McDohl's Lamentation
McDohl's Lamentation
by TacomaSquall
I stand, lost in grief -
Though my duty calls.
I cannot overlook
Your last sacrifice.
You never wanted
The life we took up -
Only loyalty
And love kept you here.
Your life, spent for
mine
To avoid the trap
General Milich
Had set for us all.
Nothing left behind
But your small weapon -
And a memory
Of steadfast support.
Though you disagreed,
You stayed with us,
You protected me,
As my father bade.
Now you are gone, a
Victim of those who
Once we viewed as friends.
The Empire will pay.
Gremio, never
Will I forget you.
You died to save me -
To give our cause life.
I pledge that we shall
Be your legacy.
Your faith justified -
Our home will be freed.
