Title: Shameless
Disclamer: Buddy Blue, Red Butler, Lala Orange, Patty
O'Green, and Rainbow Land are not mine.
If they were, you'd be sure there would be more than 13 episodes.
Author's notes: The Color Kids
regard time different than humans, because they live for so much longer.
Buddy walked past Red's room just
as Lala came running out of it. She was
dressed in her best dress, and had done her hair, but tears were streaming down
her face. She didn't even stop to
regard Buddy standing by the door; she was in too much of a hurry to get
away. Buddy looked into Red's room, and
saw him sitting on the bed. Buddy took
the initiative and entered his friend's room.
"Red? You ok?" Red turned to
him, and raised an eyebrow. It almost
seemed like he didn't know what Buddy was talking about.
"Yeah," He said at last. "I don't know what happened. I just told her I didn't want to go to the
river." Red shrugged.
"Are you sure that's all she
wanted?" Buddy crossed his arms. Red got off the bed and began to head to the
door.
"We're not having this same
conversation again, Buddy." Buddy
stopped him, and shut the door.
"Yes, we are." Red sighed and sat down on the bed
again. Even if he had wanted to muscle
his way out, Buddy would win.
"You didn't notice how she was
dressed, did you? She wanted you to
take her out." Red crossed his arms and
began to pout.
"I know that," he hissed. "I'm not that dense. She wanted to go to the river." Buddy placed his hand on his forehead and
closed his eyes.
"No, Red. She wanted you to take her out. On a date.
Alone." Red got frustrated,
knowing that Buddy was right. But, he
wasn't about to admit it. Red pointed
his finger at the blue Color Kid.
"What about you, Buddy? You're always too caught up in your work to
notice ANYTHING!" Buddy narrowed his
eyes.
"What are you talking about?" Red chuckled, confident that he was finally
winning.
"Patty O'Green!
That's what I'm talking about!
She's madly in love with you, and you've never noticed it. I have, but Red Butler is the master of
observation." Red crossed his arms and
sat back, confident. Buddy laughed
then, much to the disappointment of Red.
"What?"
"I've been seeing Patty for about 7 years now." It was Buddy's turn to be confident. "Now, if you're through being ignorant,
there is a beautiful woman waiting for an apology from you."

Red found Lala sitting by herself outside the castle. She looked stunning; he couldn't believe he
didn't notice before. Lala heard his
footsteps and looked up, but turned around when she saw who it was.
"Aww, Lala. Don't be
like that. I'm sorry." Lala looked up at him, waiting for
more. Red smiled and held out his hand
to her. As she took it, he continued.
"I know I've been a jerk lately. I want to make it up to you."
Lala smiled, apology accepted.
As she hugged him, Red looked up at Buddy's window and gave him the
thumbs up symbol. From his window
balcony, Buddy smiled and nodded.
"It's about time."
Buddy thought.
