TITLE: Spiderwebs
AUTHOR: Goddess Isa
EMAIL: goddessisa@aol.com
SUMMARY: Response to that wacky challenge to write an all-dialogue fic. Buffy can't get through to Angel. The title has nothing to do with the fic, but I really like the song and it just played on our radio.....
SPOILER: Nothing, really. I kind of invented my own stuff.
DISTRIBUTION: Sure, just email me & lmk where it's going - I like seeing my name in print =)
FEEDBACK: Please, I'd have to have to Slay for it. =P
RATING: TV-PG
DISCLAIMER: I don't own these characters, Joss Whedon does. If he ever decides to give them to me, that would be nice. =)
DEDICATION: To the wacky DJs at 89X who played "Spidewebs" so I would actually have a title to this fic =)

"Please, please, please, please, please be home. God help me, I'm talking to a telephone. No, I'm talking to an answering machine. An answering machine! Get a grip Buffy. Just because he's not answering doesn't mean anything. It could mean that he's in the bathroom. Wait, scratch that - he's a Vampire. Vampire's don't pee. Of course, when you think about it, that's weird....."

"Ow!"

"What?"

"Don't look all innocent, Alexander."

"Don't call me that!"

"Then don't hit me!"

"I did NOT hit you! I swatted you."

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Could you two children PLEASE be quiet for five minutes?"

"You're talking to an answering machine, and you want US to be quiet?"

"Xander, see me. My arm is raised. This phone is cordless."

"I'm shutting up."

"Maybe he went out?"

"Willow. Please. It's three p.m. Where would he go?"

"I don't know. That's why I said 'maybe'."

"You know Buff, guys like Dead Boy can--"

"Arm raised, Xander."

"Be really careless about taking showers when their girlfriends are trying to call?"

"He could be sleeping. That's it, he's sleeping." Willow said.

"Doubtful. Even when he sleeps he doesn't--"

"Hello?"

"Angel?"

"Buffy? Is something wrong? You sound panicked."
"No, well, yes. I've been waiting on the phone for you to pick up for like forty rings."

"I think it was more like thirty-two."

Buffy raised her hand and Xander hid under the coffee table like a little boy. Willow grabbed him by the ear and drug him up the stairs. Buffy wasn't using her bedroom, why shouldn't she make good use of it? Buffy finished her phone conversation with Angel and stared at her watch. Three-fifteen. Only four hours and forty-five minutes 'till their date. She was sure she could find something to do....but she gave it up and ran over to his place.
