"H-Harry…"
Ginny stuttered.
"Hi
Ginny! How are you?"
Ginny
turned red and stared at her shoes for a moment. "I'm fine. I
just wanted to congratulate you for catching the snitch.
You looked great out there…" She trailed off as she noticed Harry's
eyes follow Cho.
"…Huh?
Sorry, Ginny…" Harry apologized (in an endearing manner).
"Oh
that's ok. Look Harry, I need to
tell you something." Something I can't bring up the courage to tell
you later.
He
grinned sheepishly, "Actually, can you hold that thought for a moment.
I have to do something very important.
You can tell me all about it later."
"But--"
"Sorry,
Ginny, I really need to go now. I promise to have time for you
later!" In a blink, he was gone, trailing after Cho Chang, waiting
for a chance to speak with her privately.
…He broke my heart.
Ginny
sighed. A voice whispered in her
ear. "Poor Weasel, shot down
before she even opened her mouth."
"Oh shut up
Malfoy, I wasn't going to declare my undying love to him."
Lie.
He chuckled,
"No of course not, you were just going to offer your mind, body, and/or soul
to him."
"Shove it."
Ginny's face turned red, this time with anger.
Draco scowled,
"I knew you were into defending mudblood scum, Weasel, but never did I imagine you
defending this kind of low life. He
doesn't even notice you. Well…At
least now I know Potty doesn't even deserve a weasel."
With that, he sauntered down the hall.
For once, he was right. About
two things too, that bastard. Harry
doesn't notice, especially when Cho or Hermione's around. I'm just Ginny, little sister of Ron, someone to be
ignored. And if he can't make time
for me now, he certainly doesn't deserve this Weasley.
