They turned from their current argument to look at Remus, who was apparently staring at someone coming through the barrier. She was different from anyone they'd ever seen before. Her shoulder-length blond hair had hot pink streaks through it, and she was wearing dark blue denim shorts with a pink halter top to match her hair. She strode through the crowd with the utmost confidence and grace. She seemed oblivious to the blatant stares of the male population of the platform. Lily chuckled at Sirius' zoned-out state and walked over to the new girl to introduce herself.
"Hey, I'm Lily Evans. You new here?"
The girl grinned. "Sure seems that way, doesn't it?" she said, waving her hand to indicate the drooling guys around her. Lily laughed, and the guys were brought out of their "trance". They all blushed and looked away as Lily lead the new girl over to their group.
"I'm Jessica, by the way. Jessica Walker. I'm the new exchange student from Malibu Beach Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
"So, what do you like to do?" They had reached the group at that point, and Sirius' mouth was still hanging open.
"I sing, I study, and I surf."
She saw Sirius (who still hadn't closed his mouth) and walked over to him. She put a cool hand under his chin and closed his mouth.
"You were kinda drippin there, my friend."
And, for the first time in anyone's memory, Sirius blushed.
