I am in a cage.
I don't know how I got there.
All I know is that one minute I was sound asleep in my nest and the next thing I knew, I was in a metal cage.
The man who put me in the cage is showing me to a crowd of 14 people. He is saying something, but I'm too scared and making too much noise to hear him.
I only made out the words "One hundred and fifty" and "catches the snidget" The crowd disperses and they fly into the air on brooms. The man is opening my cage now. Is he letting me go? It seems too easy. I Beat my wings furiouly and fly towards the forest in the distance. Suddenly, I am pushed back with a strong force. The people below re pointed sticks at me and shouting, somethings is driving me backwards. I hastely turn around and fly to the other end of the field. Several people on broomsticks begin to chase me. The force is driving me back again. There is no escape, I am trapped. From above, I can see a woman shouting at the man who put me in a cage. He throws the empty cage at her and laughs. I angrily fly towards the man. If I have to die, I'd like to poke his eye out first. Before I can get there, the woman points her stick at me and says something. I am suddenly pulled towards her. She stuffs me down the front of her robes and begins to run. I am nearly choking in the bundle of material. Suddenly she pulls me out again, and releases me into the wind. I fly at top speed towards to forest, but not before looking back and dipping my wings in a salute to the woman who saved my life.
I am now back home, in my nest. I've moved my nest, piece by piece, away to a safer place, where no human will find me. The legends say that a snidget will never die, unless something kills it. I plan to be the first to prove it.
A/N: Like it? I might start a series of stories about the magical beasts, depending on what the feedback is from this one. Thanks for reviewing! -Snidget
