Black, Red and Brown
Black, Red and Brown
By: Nettie
Chapter One
I watch them while they walk together--three
different heads--three different hair colors--black, red and brown.
So different in nature--one fiercely proud, one trying to be independent,
and the last amazingly clever. The three of them are so different--yet
best friends. Harry, Hermione and Ron.
I watch as Ron's arm slips around Hermione's
waist, and Harry squeezes her shoulder in encouragement. They
don't really realize that people talk about them--about their
relationship. They are simply best friends--forever protecting
each other.
As I watch them, I reflect on them.
Ron, so proud--so fierce, and so loyal.
All he wants in his life, though he has not realized it, is friends,
and family, and Hermione. He does not realize his attachment to
her--I hope in time that it will deepen into something more sacred.
Hermione is so different than Ron or Harry,
she's so determined--she's simply brilliant--someday I hope that
she will make something of herself. She's beautiful--even though
she doesn't realize it, or she doesn't care.
Then there is Harry Potter, Harry Potter,
the hero of the world--the vanquisher of evil. I sometimes wonder
if Harry ever had a childhood--I know he didn't, and that has
made him cautious. He is still bewildered at his fame--in fact,
I think he hates it. He will in time adjust--and prove to the
world that he is so much more.
I have watched them since they were born--carefully--well,
not me exactly. I had three very trustworthy people watch over
the trio. Arabella Figg, Mundungus Fletcher and Remus Lupin have
watched Harry, Hermione and Ron since the day they were born.
They are walking towards me now, and Minerva
leans towards me.
"Are you going to tell the Albus?"
she asks.
I nod, trying not to betray my emotions.
For Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald
Weasley will play a very important part in the fall of the Dark
Order. It is their destiny...they were born for it. Maybe I should
explain before I get carried away: I knew that Lord Voldemort
would rise again--but I also knew that he could be defeated--not
easily--oh no, not easily at all. But he CAN be defeated-- and
who else better to defeat the Dark Order than the most powerful
coven in the world?
They are, the most powerful coven in the
world I mean. It's rather odd--I had always thought that it would
Be James, Sirius and Remus who would defeat the Dark Lord. I was
wrong--I sometimes am. But James's son has survived, but he will
not lead this coven, oh no, the fate of the Wizarding World lies
in the small weathered hands of Hermione Granger.
A/N: Well, that's the begging. See, I realized
Hermione always has to get rescued by either Ron, Harry or Draco,
and being the feminist I am--I decided to write a fic where HERMIONE
gets to go one on one with Voldemort, and kick some seriously
evil dark lord butt. Sorry this is so short, next part will be
up soon!!
By the way, The next Two or Three Chapters
of Half the Sugar, Twice the spice should be up sometime soon!
