My Story L ?
By Major Meria Kendel-Spencer M

Greetings, my name is Major Meria Kendel-Spencer. Like Mr. Harper of the Andromeda Ascendant, I grew up in a refugee camp on Earth. My family and I were taken there when I was only five. Due to the remoteness of our rural town, our environment and its rugged terrain, we were one of the last areas to be invaded. Three years after, when I was eight, we fled from earth on a cargo ship. We headed for the Midas Galaxy Region and were discovered by the crew. They were extremely sympathetic. They fed us, clothed us and looked after our health, but ultimately knew that there was no room for a family on a cargo ship. They reluctantly turned us over to the authorities on the Shazaaren home world. We discovered that the Shazaar were a sentient of humanoids who were very hospitable to us. They invited us to stay and for my sister and I to grow up as Shazaaren children. There are not many differences between humans and Shazaarens. There is a small gland in the brain that was reawakened when the Shazaar were engineered. It allows them to have telepathic capabilities. My sister and, I believing we were Shazaaren children, soon developed these powers as well. I am also a small part Nietzschean and have small stubs where bone spurs should be. As a Shazaaren child, I enjoyed activities such as Kudasnak, a game consisting of using telepathy to move a rubber ball around a court and the perimeter of a four-walled room. We also had four-day school weeks with nine courses, four in life skills, such as science/chemistry/botany; first aid and field medic skills; language an trade; and a crash course in shuttle navigation and operations. We also had five courses in telekinesis. I excelled at all of my studies and prided myself on being a respectful student. I later was accepted into the United Armed Forces of Shazaar Training Academy where I majored in Engineering with an accent in Slipstream Replacement/Repair and Genetics. I graduated with top honors and am considered a great addition to our fighting forces. I am an experienced Slipstream pilot and had the honor of learning from one of the best pilots on the Shazaar home world. I am a licensed physician and am a great help to our forces in battle.
