You have to kill him. Those
words rang through Filia's head. She was lying in her bed, staring absently
at the ceiling. You have to kill him… Filia turned over to her side. She
started thinking back to her trial.
"Filia Ul Copt… former priestess of Karyou-sama.
You swear to tell the truth?" The new Superior Chief was sitting behind
a pulpit in the holy room for the dragons. Filia sat in a chair facing
him, and the other elders.
"Hai!" She nodded. Her hands were on her
lap, and she sat stiffly, looking blankly ahead.
Filia slowly got off her bed and went down
to make some tea for her and Xellos. He would be there any minute. You
have to kill him… Filia crumpled to the floor and buried her face in hands.
She didn't shed any tears. She couldn't.
"He killed your parents… your parent's parents.
And you still love him?" The Superior Chief shouted at her. Filia's face
was pure white; she didn't look alive at all. The Superior sat back down
and nodded to the man next to him.
"Filia, Your Judgment." The man said, standing
up. "You are not alowwed to associate yourself with the other dragons.
You are banned from here and… You have to kill him…"
"No… Why…?" She asked herself. She stood
up, and walked to the kitchen and fixed the tea. She was just about finished
when she heard a knock at the door.
"Xellos…" She said softly. She quickly opened
the door and let him in.
"Hello!" Xellos said. He had his hand behind
his back, which he now brought forward, revealing a bouquet of yellow and
purple roses.
"Happy Filia day." He told her cheerfully,
leaning over kissing her fully on the lips. He handed the flowers to her
and started to walk inside.
"Filia... day?" She asked.
"Yep. I thought about making a day that
was for you." He motioned to the skies. "See it's even bright and shining
just like you." He said. He made a face but smiled at her.
Filia stared at him, her heart breaking
into many pieces. But she still couldn't cry.
"L-l-let's go into the kitchen and have
some tea." She said, leading the way to the kitchen. Xellos sat down in
his normal place at her table, while she went to the main part of the kitchen
to get the tea.
She picked up the bottle of poisoning she
was going to use for Xellos' tea. Her hand was shaking as she opened it.
She immediately sat it down and stared at in fear. Instead she went over
to a drawer and took out a sharp nice. She murmured some words on it… seemed
like a curse. She took it and raised it over head and brought it down,
through her heart, stabbed herself with it.
"Since I decided to name this Filia Day,
I figured we can go do something you like... Even if it means... studing
morning glories." Xellos turned his head to see Filia stabbing herself
with the knife. He jumped out of his chair and ran over to her.
"Filia!" His words were faint in her head.
Before she hit the floor, his arms slipped underneath her and caught her.
He brought her close to his chest and slapped her face gently.
"Filia… Filia! Open your eyes! Wake up!"
He cried out. Filia opened her eyes weakly.
"Superior Chief… Order… to kill you…" She
muttered. "Couldn't… I... love...you..." She sighed and fell limply to
his sighed.
"FILIA!" He yelled. The fact the he was
a mazoku, meant he couldn't use magic, let alone white magic. No resurrection
spell. He couldn't bring her to Zelas in time. Zelas was out hunting. He
stared down at her. Light tears fell on her face.
This can't be real. Get me out of here!
He thought. He slowly took the knife out of her chest and brought it down
on himself.
'I'm a mazoku... I shouldn't be feeling
this...' He thought as he silently died.
Take
me back
