Music swirls all around me as colors dance all over the place. But I'm
oblivious. I'm only aware on the guy in front of me. Oz. His arms hold me
protectively as we dance, and I feel safer than I ever have in the past three
years. Buffy assured me that we, Oz, Xander, Cordelia, her, and myself, that
we were going to have a prom. The kind of prom that everyone should have.
She;s going to give you all a nice, fun, normal evening if she have to kill
every single person on the face of the earth to do it. She was exaggerating,
but still, it was a comfort. Especially since most Slayers don't live to have
their prom. And whatever doubts I had when we came here, are gone now thanks
to Oz.
I tilt my head up as he moves his down and we kiss. Every kiss we share
is like our first one all over again. Pure bliss. He pulls away and nods
toward the door, I turn and see Buffy entering, gently tugging Oz's hand we
walk over.
"Buffy, you look awesome." I say in greeting
"So do you." She responds with a smile.
"Everything cool?" Oz says.
"Coolest. Devil dogs are history. How's the prom?"
"Strangely affecting. I got all teared up when they played 'We Are Family'."
"Everything's perfect!" I exclaim and she smiles at me. Seeing her smile
makes my heart break. She's had it tough the past few days. She motions that
she's going to see Giles' and we go our separate ways.
An hour later, the prom begins to wind down and people begin to leave.
Pretty soon, Oz and me were in the parking lot, by the limo. The driver
wasn't there yet, so Oz reached it and put on the radio. A soft ballad starts
playing. Oz grabs my hand we wrap our arms around each other. He looks at me.
"I love you Willow." He says.
"I love you too. Always forever?" I ask him.
"Forever and ever..." And we quietly dance amid cars in the parking lot. I
said it before and I'll say it again. This is pure bliss.
