Mark Time, Hut! 1,2. 1,2. And, BLAST! Your off. You are in a little room high atop the universe, being the creators. You are providing the fuel to the imaginations of hundreds of people. All of their eyes, ears. Senses. Locked In On you. Remeber the notes. Order. Routine. Everything is a blur of massive adrenaline. You know this. You channel the emotions correctly, and it creates beautiful sound and fuel for the mind. Otherwise, your lost. BOOM! The Opener is over. You rest yourself for just a moment. I dash to my next place. POW! The Filler begins. It is slow, but still unique. A Major piece of the experience, as far as the audience is concerned. It grows Shorter. KAPOWY! Its over. The Closer Begins. Charismatic. Joyful. Uplifting. Incredible Sound is produced. created. You are creating. This is the most adrenaline that has ever been pumped through your body. ZING! Its over. You hit every note perfect. You hit all of the stops, the holds, the breaks, played every crash right on count 4, just like you memorized it. The crowd is on their feet. Cheering, applauding, for you. You have just performed. You have Created a unique piece of history, tied by the bond you all share. You felt the music, what the composer felt as he wrote a brilliant opus of streaming, crashing, booming, banging, wild ride, amphetamine ride through his head. You have just Performed... HI! This is a recollection of my experiences with Marching Band. It was a truly amazing experience, and i cannot wait to do it again! The kind of joy that pumps through your vains after the perfect show is an incredible feeling. Amazing and joyous to see everyone around you smiling, because, together you have just accomplished something most people could never do.
Laters,
Mike.
