"Bear with me Rampart, this is an odd one." Johnny Gage's voice said from the biophone. Dixie smirked, "Aren't they all?" she commented to Doctor Brackett. Kel's face twitched, betraying his amused thoughts. Johnny started his report over, causing the two hospital personnel to become curious, "It's always good when Johnny has to start over," Dixie observed.

Emily Stanley had thought that her day couldn't get any worse...and then the phone rang. (Cap's wife's POV of his electrocution in "The Great Crash Diet.") One-Shot.

"Man, I hate stairs," Chet grunted as they lifted the patient up and over the railing, as the backboard wouldn't fit in the tight turn. Instead of elbowing Chet, as Marco's hands were busy, he hissed at him. Captain Stanley was at the bottom of the stairs, ready to help. "And gravel," Chet added. Hank didn't make any comments, he also disliked those things.

When Station 51 receives a call from the local Middle School, you never know what sort of situation they are going to find.

"How ya feeling Gage?" Tony asked from the driver's side of the squad, leaning on the hood. It was John's last shift at 10 before he was reassigned to station 51. Gage hummed a reply, not really sure how he was feeling. The past couple months had gone by in a blur. "I'll let you know," Gage answered his partner's question with a smirk.

Standing in the doorway of the small Intensive Care room, Dixie silently watched as Johnny pleaded with Roy to open his eyes. Dixie silently shook her head, knowing the futility of trying to send the young paramedic home to rest but she knew she had to try.

What it's like to wait for rescue, after you've done all you can.

Sometimes life doesn't turn out like you planned it to. What happens when the rescuer becomes the victim?

"Shit," Mike said, shaking his hand. He was working on a rocking chair for a fellow engineer, when a splinter lodged itself in his finger. Mike sucked his finger and glared at the offending piece of wood the splinter came from. He had just cut out the armrests, which meant the pieces weren't yet sanded. "Least I won't get another splinter," he said.

Alternate ending to 5x22 The Nuisance. What if Johnny had died at the scene after being hit by the car?

"Gentlemen," Cap said, "I want you to meet our new line– er, lineman, Evelyn Wayfair." Station 51 gets a new member, Firefighter Evelyn Wayfair, the first of her kind. All she wants to do is to be a good firefighter, but it's going to be an uphill battle. She's got a lot to learn - and so do her new crewmates.

An on-the-job injury results in a nasty concussion for Johnny that gets worse before it gets better. Roy does his best to help his stubborn best friend recover even after Johnny accidentally exasperates his condition out of a selfless notion of not wanting to complain even when he begins to feel terrible, and Roy has to deal with the guilt of what happens to Johnny.
