A/N: I like Hephaestus and see that he doesn't have that many fanfics so here's one. Also this is a scifi fic where Hephaestus uses the information of modern science to help humanity reach new heights. Hephaestus won't be shipped with other gods/goddess but from characters from other fandoms but with different backgrounds(mostly anime meaning yes this is a harem fic with 4-5 girls).

One more thing I don't one Greek mythology or the characters that appear.

'Tch to think I was so stupid that she could love me' someone thought to themselves as the sounds of iron and steel being hit together inside a large workshop. The workshop was filled with various weapons such as swords, spears, arrows, bows, axes, hammer, shield and also had various types of jewellery and some other contraptions, inventions and tools. Inside the workshop were 3 females with 1 male automaton (basically golden statues that move) sorting out the various weapons and cleaning up the workshop. The one responsible for the noise was the Greek god Hephaestus.

Hephaestus stood at an impressive 7 foot 1 inch, the 3rd tallest in the 12 Olympians. Had a decently muscular body. Had long long reddish-brown hair tied in a ponytail with an unkept beard. His skin was a light tan with a few blemishes and marks on his face. His arms and legs were also hairy. He wore a brown tunic that mostly covered the lower half of his body.

Hephaestus was currently hammering the finishing touches to his new invention. He stopped the hammering and placed it in cold water to let it set for 40 minutes.

When the waiting was done he took the device out of the water. It looked like some kind of ankle bracelet that was coated in silver and had a small purple jewel in the centre.

"Finally… it's done" Hephaestus said to himself with a small smirk on his face. He wrapped the device around his ankle of his injured leg that caused him to always limp. After a couple of seconds the bracelet shot out metallic wires wrapping around and going inside his leg. The pain was so excruciating that Hephaestus collapsed to the ground and did best not to scream out in agony.

The automatons saw this and walked to their creator to see the problem.

"Lord Hephaestus…do you need some assistance?" One of the female automatons said in a mechanical voice that lacked any emotion.

"No… its fine…I expected this to happen" Hephaestus responded. The automatons nodded and went back to what they were doing. The metal wire continued going inside Hephaestus' leg through his skin and muscles, wrapping and rearranging some of his bones. This continued for 2 hours and the pain reduced to a rate that was tolerable for him to stand.

"*pant* *pant* damn chaos I hope I never have to do that again" Hephaestus muttered to himself. Hephaestus looked down to see the bracelet had come off with the wires not hugging his skins but now in the inside of his injured leg. The god took a few slow but painful steps around the workshop. Instead of limping he was walking more normal even though the way it looked was a little bit awkward.

'This is certainly better than tirelessly limping to where I need to go. I truly can't believe I didn't come up with this earlier.' the god thought to himself as he went to sit on a chair. The god had been keeping himself busy forging different weapons and jewellery to get rid of the amount of anger, humiliation and sadness that has been plaguing him for the past 2 weeks since he presented the naked bodies of Ares and Aphrodite caught in the net trap he set for them.

He had since divorce his ex-wife Aphrodite but the negative emotions were still running rampant across his mind which led him to think about the bad experience that has happened to his life up until now.

From being born deformed and not as beautiful as his siblings that his own mother didn't love him and threw him off the edge of mount Olympus, where he hit a rock that led to him being crippled (previously). To marry Aphrodite only to have her not only have an affair with Ares but other members of his family such as Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Apollo and some other minor god or mortal lovers (but Ares was her most frequent) that he had found out. To still be disrespected and talked behind his back by the other gods both for being he lame god and mocking him that Aphrodite would cheat on him.

When Zeus said Aphrodite was to be married to him at first he was ecstatic that he was married to the most beautiful goddess, however that ecstasy slowly dwindled overtime. Over the past 8 months Hephaestus would do his best to close the obvious distance that was in their relationship. He built both of them a house for them to live in, gave her gifts that he created in his workshop, tried to talk to her about various topics but nothing worked. Ever since they got married they have not been intimate once. In hindsight Hephaestus thought about it from Aphrodite's perspective and although she was forced to marry him to prevent a war he still thought they could make it work but clearly he was wrong.

Despite Hephaestus understanding why the goddess of love and beauty didn't want to marry the lame god he couldn't help but feel about anger and humiliation about the fact that his now ex-wife would go sleeping around without a care in the world instead of talking to him about (although realistically she wouldn't willingly talk to him unless it was for new jewellery). If she did that he might have actually gotten a divorce had he seen the relationship wasn't going anywhere.

The forging god shook the thoughts of his married life because not doing so just made his blood boil. Hephaestus then felt a large amount of guilt and sadness as he thought about Athena and what he almost did 5 days ago. Where he could have forced himself upon her. He remembers the day where he forcibly wrapped his hands around her and kissed her neck and was about to do more but was received with a hard slap across the face.

Hephaestus stumbled back and was brought to his senses from the pain and the sight of the coldest glare Athena was giving him. Hephaestus stared at her like a deer caught in headlights and his mind was then consumed by an overwhelming amount of guilt.

"A-Athena…I-I'm s-sor-"

"Save it" The goddess spoke in such a cold and dangerous voice that Hephaestus thought he would have been killed simply from her presence.

Athena then turned around and teleported away to who knows where leaving Hephaestus to his own thoughts.

'What in Tartarus was I doing…and to Athena of all people" The god thought to himself. He knew deep down what the problem was but to act out in such a way made him realise that he didn't think his problem was that bad and to Athena for that.

Athena was one of the few deities Hephaestus actually liked as he thought both of them were pretty similar yet different like 2 sides of the same coin. Both of them were born asexually, both of them were highly intelligent, both of them were valuable assets to Olympus and both were more morally good compared to the other gods. However that were the similarities stop, unlike Hephaestus she is respected by all gods, unlike Hephaestus she was amazingly beautiful and unlike Hephaestus she was loved by almost everyone the moment she popped out of Zeus's head while he was thrown off mount Olympus the only love he received was from his adoptive mother Thetis and a few nymphs, but the thing about that is that had a feeling that she wouldn't love him as much as her biological son Achilles.

Athena essentially had the things that Hephaestus wanted which may have resulted in why he acted in such a way. Even if Hephaestus didn't want to admit it, he felt lonely and desired affection and true respect from someone or somewhere. Yes appreciate the thanks and praise from someone of the humans (mostly blacksmiths) but it was outweighed by the treatment of the other deities.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

Hephaestus thoughts were interrupted by the sudden knocking of his from door.

"Hephie open up, it's your favourite messenger!" a male cheerful voice said.

Hephaestus gave an annoyed groan as he really didn't want to deal with Hermes but reluctantly went to open the door.

"What"

"*gasp* is how you treat your favourite sibling of all time" Hermes said in mocked surprise.

Hephaestus was about to shut the door but was stopped by Hermes' hand on the door. "Wait wait wait look… I just came to give you a message that Zeus is calling for a meeting 3 days from now."

Hephaestus resisted the urge to groan out loud as he hated those boring meetings, that and the fact it would be alot more awkward with the current events that have happened up until now.

"And also Ares asks (demanded) for a new spear, Apollo wants some arrows and Aphrodite would like a new necklace." the messenger god said

Hephaestus scowled when he heard those names but went back to a more neutral face. "Is that all?" the forging god asked.

"Yep"

If Hermes had anything to say we wouldn't have gotten the opportunity as Hephaestus had shut the door closed without a word. Hermes paid no mind to this and left the workshop. Hephaestus had no desire to make anything the gods/goddess asked him for, however he knew he had to but not now. Instead Hephaestus went to sleep in another room inside the workshop. He rarely slept inside his own home as ever since his divorce he practically lived inside the workshop.

Hephaestus went to bed in a sour mood. Hephaestus hated everything that's happened to him in his life and had oftentimes felt like running away to a place where he could create new inventions and be giving the love and appreciation he so desperately wants. Hephaestus then went to bed planning on getting the materials from the underworld.

Next Morning

In the morning Hephaestus wore a brown chiton (basically a tunic that fastens on the shoulder) and sandals while carrying a bag to collect some materials in the underworld. Hephaestus signed to himself as he reluctantly made sure he had everything he needed before he left.

He shut his automatons off as he prepared to teleport to the underworld. However as he was doing it he noticed something was wrong with his teleportation as it was a lot slower. He chalked it up to the fast that because he didn't use it much that's why it was acting up but unbeknownst to him as he was teleporting a spatial distortion happened.

Spatial distortion: An unexplainable and random phenomenal that lead to various effects in space-time across the multiverse.

When Hephaestus did teleport instead of the underworld he was instead meet with a black void. He was so confused on what was going on. He couldn't tell which direction was which or hear of feel anything in the void. He tried to say something but was immediately met with a pulling sensation that was dragging him to some expected location at such high speeds it would make Hermes bluff. As he was being pulled he lights of different colours going right past him as his speed was accelerating.

Hephaestus saw a bright light up ahead and lifted his arms in front of him to prepare for whatever was about to happen, he however wasn't expecting to be met with water. He was currently underwater and swam to the top as quick as he could.

"*cough* *cough* Wha? What in chaos is going on?" Hephaestus said as he looked around to see a beach a few 100 metres away from him and released that he was in the sea. He tried wanted to teleport to the beach but decided against as he didn't want the same thing to happen again so he swam towards the shore, which was a lot easier now that his leg was healed.

As Hephaestus got to the shore he was met with a few stares from the mortals, some wearing clothes that looked like undergarments on females. Hephaestus them looked around some more and saw some mortal with plastic ball/disk, some where also looking and tapping on some rectangular device made of glass and plastic. He looked up ahead to see builds of different heights that looked more advanced than what he was seeing and he saw some mortals riding metal vehicles with the uses of their legs.

Hephaestus was having a hard time trying to process what he was seeing until he finally asked the big question.

"Where…the chaos…am I?"
