Rating: PG(for now)
Spoilers:18th and Potomac, but not anything really important
Disclaimers: They aren't mine. Just don't sue.
Summary: Oliver Babbish really, really annoys me. I had to write this because of something he said in 18th and Potomac. It is Jed/Abbey(more if I write another chapter). The world needs more of those*hint, hint* Please review I have more chapters but won't post them unless you review. But be nice, this is my first fic.
Abbey sat at the head of the table in the small basement room that the senior staff was using for their secret meetings. She had had a long day at the hospital and she really wanted to go to her room and sleep. Instead, she had to sit here and listen to Oliver Babbish rattle of questions at her. She really loathed the man. In all fairness, Abbey supposed he was a good lawyer, but his personality was absolutely unbearable. He was about the most unfriendly, disagreeable person she had ever met. Abbey sighed, but focused her attention back on Babbish.
"Dr. Bartlet, as your husband's physician, have you ever asked him if he has had any extramarital affairs?
God damn the man. Abbey was angry and she did the first thing that came to mind. She punched him. Hard.
"My God, who do you think you are?" Abbey asked him furiously. "Who do you think you're talking about, for that matter. We're talking about Josiah Bartlet, not Bill Clinton. Have some respect for your president, who, if I may remind you, also happens to be your boss."
"Mrs. Bartlet, I didn't mean-"
"That's Dr. Bartlet, and frankly, I don't care what you meant. You have insulted me and Jed. I've had all of you I can deal with today. You may leave." She told him sharply.
A Babbish walked up the stairs, Sam came in and noticed Babbish clutching his stomach.
"Are you sick," Sam asked Babbish. Then Sam glanced down and saw the look on Abbey's face. Sam knew that there weren't that many things that would make Abbey that mad at the average person. Sam figured that Babbish wouldn't have done so he must have--. "Oh God, you didn't try to ask Jed Bartlet's wife if he has ever had an affair, did you?"
"I asked her about something similar during the campaign. I was only teasing, but she still kicked me and somehow managed to get most of the staff not to talk to me for days. Don't even mention the word "affair" around Abigail Bartlet. She's extremely defensive."
"I heard that Seabourn," Abbey told him grumpily. "You had better watch it, I am not in a good mood today.
