"We're here, Mikey! Together!"

Raph's voice echoed in Donnie's ear as he grabbed Mikey's left shoulder, Raph grabbing the right. The three of them saw the golden glow from Mikey's hands open a portal. They let out a collective gasp as they saw Leo on the other side.

"Heh. Took you guys long enough." His brothers could see that he was hurt and exhausted. Yet, he still managed to crack a joke.

"AAHH!" Raph reached out, using his powers to partially form his avatar. He grabbed Leo's hand and pulled him forward. The trio gasped as the Kraang suddenly appeared behind their brother.

"Leo!" Raph tightened his grip on his brother as the Kraang drew closer.

With tears in his eyes, Donnie pulled his bo-staff back, forming a large mystic drill. He swung forward, taking aim at the alien. Donnie gasped as the Kraang dodged his drill and grabbed Leo's foot.

"NOOO!" Donnie, Mikey and Raph screamed as the Kraang pulled their brother out of Raph's grasp.

As Mikey struggled to maintain the portal, Raph reached for his brother again. The Kraang had pulled Leo too far and he was out of reach. The portal suddenly closed as Mikey passed out.

"LEO!" Raph and Donnie collapsed, tears streaming down their faces.

Donnie woke up with a gasp. He looked around to see he was in Leo's room. After they had gotten Casey back to his own time, the turtles had gone home, exhausted and hurt. Leo was hurt worse than any of them. He had fallen asleep within a few minutes of them rescuing them. Raph had carried him back to the lair and put him in bed. After the events of the night, Raph, Donnie and Mikey slept in Leo's room. It was almost like they were afraid of losing him again. Donnie let out a sigh of relieve when he saw Leo on his bed, snoring softly. Donnie scooted back against the wall and closed his eyes.

"Donnie?" He looked up to see Leo looking at him, concern on his face.

"Leo, why are you up? You need to rest." Leo let out a soft chuckle.

"You're one to talk."

"I'm not the one who was nearly beaten to death by an alien. You passed out almost as soon as we got you out."

"Donnie, relax. I'm fine." Leo had a pained expression on his face as he sat up and grabbed his side. The expression and movement didn't go unnoticed by Donnie.

"Come on." Donnie stood up and helped his brother out of bed.

"Where are we going?"

"My lab. I have extensive medical supplies in there."

"I told you, I'm fine." Leo's movements contradicted what he was saying.

"You can barely move." Despite Donnie's aversion to physical contact, he grabbed Leo's arm and pulled it over his shoulder, wrapping an arm around his brother's waist.

Leo started to protest but stopped. He knew there was no winning this argument. And honestly, he didn't care. He was just glad he had his brothers, again.

They got to the workshop and Donnie helped Leo sit down. Leo tried to hide it when he winced with the movement. He was unsuccessful and Donnie looked at him with concern.

"Your shell is cracked, pretty badly."

"That alien jerkface literally stepped on me. Considering that he put his entire weight on me, I'm surprised I still have a shell."

"Well, I would've just made you a Battleshell to match mine."

"Donnie, was that a joke?" Despite the pain he was in, Leo let out a small laugh.

Leo winced as Donnie patched the cracks in his shell. And there were a lot of them. Several small cracks and more than a few large ones. The larger cracks need to be plastered and bandaged. After taking care of Leo's shell, Donnie went to work on the various cuts that covered his brother's arms, legs and face. The solemn look on Donnie's face didn't go unnoticed.

"Donnie, you okay?"

"Yes, of course."

"You're a terrible liar. What's wrong?"

"What makes you think something's wrong?"

"I still have one good eye. I can see it in your face that there's something bothering you."

Even with cuts and bruises covering his face and a right eye that's swollen shut, the look on Leo's face was nothing but concern. Donnie sighed and set the medical supplies on the table.

"Okay, I'm not, exactly, fine. The reason I was awake is because I had a nightmare."

"That's no surprise. It's been that kind of day."

"No, that's no it. When we were pulling you out of the prison dimension, the Kraang tried to grab you. I used my powers to get him away from you."

"I remember."

"In my dream, we couldn't save you. The Kraang dodged the drill and pulled you out of our reach. We…we lost you, Leo." Donnie's eyes brimmed with tears. Leo grabbed Donnie and wrapped him in a hug. And for once, Donnie didn't protest and hugged back.
