Fighting the Giant
Ok, people! In The Protector of the Small series, it mentions that Sir Raoul defeats a 20 foot tall giant.
So here's my version!!!
Disclaimer: none of the characters are mine, only the specifics of the plot are (TP even came up with the giant idea)!
A messenger approached Sir Raoul.
"Sir, there are reports of a giant roaming around near a small village in the country. You are needed."
Sir Raoul gathered a group of about 20 men and set off. Most of the men were very apprehensive about facing a
giant, but others were brimming with excitement. After riding for about an hour the village came into view.
It was mostly intact, but some of the buildings had smashed in walls, nothing more.
"Well," commented Sir Raoul," it doesn't look like it was extremely large giant."
"Sir," gulped one,"I think we may be able to see for ourselves in a second."
The ground was rumbling, as if something large was coming. There was something coming, but it sure wasn't a giant.
A group of killer unicorns were running towards them full speed, their horns pionted in the soldiers' direction. There
were about 15 unicorns in all, but they were all crazed, smashing anything in their way.
Sir Roul shouted out orders. 17 men stayed to face the unicorns, and 5 went with Sir Raoul. He and his men were
riding towards the village when they saw it. A giant was striding towards them, looking extremly grumpy.
Finally Sir Raoul and the others were face-to-face with it. Their horses, very frightened started bucking wildly. Lord
Raoul and three others were thrown off. The giant, though only 20 feet tall, was still strong. He (it?) picked up one of the
fallen men and threw him. The man lay crumpled on the ground.
The other horses could no longer take it. They fled, with their riders still on, ignoring the pull on their reins. That left
Sir Raoul and 2 men. They each had a sword and a bow and arrow. One of the men stupidly charged by himself and got
his neck broken for his folly. The other soldier started shooting. He hit the giant in one of his eyes, then got knocked
aside, lying unconsious. Sir Raoul was left to fight alone. He shot the giant in the other eye, making him blind. The
he stabbed one great foot. The giant pulled up that foot. Sir Raoul took that chance to ram himself into the other leg.
It wasn't that strong of a push, but enough to put the giant iff balance. It (he?)fell over. Sir Raoul jumped onto
his stomach and stabbed it in the heart. The giant let out one last scream, shuddered and died. Sir Raoul's work there
was done.
He went back to his men carrying the unconsious man, and found all the unicorns and 6 of his men dead. They went
home, and that April Sir Raoul got a new title: Lord Sir Raoul.
A/N: Okay everybody, hope ya'll liked my story. It isn't great or realistic, I know, but that is how I imagined it. An
explination for the unicorns is that I needed to get rid of his men somehow, so I chose immortals. Please R&R (or by
now just review )!!!!! ;)
