After a month, Cleo was able to find her way out but got beaten up for disobeying. There was no treatment for the pain so Cleo just rolled up into a ball. She hasn't eaten in two weeks. The people that were in the prison with her started to worry. Whatever food came in, Cleo would give it to someone else. Cleo was getting smaller and smaller. Once Cleo got her energy back, she escaped and had a few people with. They returned home with their family. Cleo got home and noticed that her pup was done and so was her family.
"Cleo!"
"Mom!" Then ran into the living room. Cleo saw two guys with her family tied up. "What are you butt heads doing? Let my family go."
"No way, brat." said one guy. Then a body grabbed right in front of her and it was her neighbor. Cleo backed up.
"Our boss found out that you have been escaping because he wanted us to catch you."
"Your family will be next if you try anything stupid. Got it." said the guy. Cleo just nodded her head. Then another dude ran in and took Cleo away. As she was in prison, she learned from the doctor that was still alive. Cleo just turned eight and was able to go home. She had marks on her arms and legs. The citizens in the town saw her. They were happy that she was returned but scared of what those men did to her. Cleo was very small for an eight year old to the point you could see her rib cage. Some of the citizens got her food. She refused to take it but was found half of the time on the street passed out. Cleo helped others and put them before herself. The new mayor was informed and went to her location. Cleo got her after one of the neighbors fed her. A man in black kicked her out the house.
"Yo what the heck?" she asked as she got up. Then another man came out with a knife and cut her hair. "My hair! What did I even do?" Inside the house the mayor was talking to Cleo's parents.
"What do you want with us?" said her father.
"Nothing. I wanted to talk to you. I see your daughter is causing problems. So I want to ask her parents; do you accept the fact that your daughter is causing nothing but trouble. One of your neighbors complained to me about her. Honestly a few of the citizens did, to the point where they want the whole family out of town." the mayor said seriously.
"She's been causing that many problems?" asked her mother.
"Mom, it's true. One of my friends doesn't want to talk to me anymore because of her." said their oldest son.
"See. So I'm going to make a deal with you."
"Which is what?" said the family.
"Leave her behind and move on with your life. Move out of this town. Leave everyone. Start a new life, there would be no more problems and the trouble maker is out of your life. I will give you until the end of the week. If so, start packing bags and there will be a truck behind the house. Money will be there as well. Think about it and take the truck as your answer." He said and left the house. Once he left, Cleo walked in and no one noticed her. So she went to her room. That night the parents were talking about what the mayor told them.
"Leave my daughter behind. I'm not sure but a life in peace and freedom from this town." said the mother.
"I know. We don't want to leave her behind but the offer that he gave us." said the father.
"I know. It sounds wonderful. We get to leave, have a life and enjoy peace."
"So what do you think?"
"The money is a good amount." said the oldest son. "He gave us a lot and we can leave that annoying brat here."
"Yeah she's not wanted and making us look bad. Everyone in this town hates us because of her." said the middle child. The parents looked at each other. So they agreed and started to pack. During the week, the family saw Cleo leave and looked outside the window. The mayor was right, people didn't like them. As Cleo was on her bike, people would give them an annoyed look. So that was a sign and so they started to pack. The parents went to city hall and spoke to the mayor. The parents took the deal and by the end of the week they left.
