A battle played out.
Charizard VS Lapras
The Charizards flames gushed out in a wildfire from its mouth. It roared as it descended upon the Lapras, coating it in fire. The scratching flames cackled before slowly fading revealing the Lapras's mouth. It exhaled a cool air, dampening the flames causing them to dissipate. It's soft yet smooth skin built to resist the hottest and coolest temperatures, though the shell on its back sizzled hot, covered in scorch marks.
The Lapras responded, using rain dance it caused clouds to form in the sky above the area. Rain begun to pour, prompting the Charizard, fearful, to drop to the ground, it covered its tail with its wings blocking the excessive rainfall.
The Lapras having, given the situation, used Hydro pump. A highly pressurized gallon of water gushed from its mouth, pointed toward the Charizard. The Charizard too caught up on its tail gets drenched and pushed, the force of the water kicking it off its own feet. After getting pushed it falls onto its back and rolls rapidly before smashing into the area wall, cracking it.
After a few seconds of nothing the match is declared over, with Lapras as the victor. The crowd roars valiantly for the brilliant battle, some booing, others weeping for the fatality of another proud Pokémon.
"That's the risk of becoming a pokemon trainer." A woman spoke, holding a remote "You still want to be a pokemon trainer?" Her hair a hazel brown with little strands of grey, with a plain white shirt and a long brown dress, wearing an apron with Mr Mime on it.
"You bet I do!" The boy in front of the television jumped to his feet. "I'll be the strongest Pokémon trainer ever!" He stated proudly, with black hair, wearing a white shirt with red long sleeves and blue shorts. He grinned "One day I'll be there too, fighting with the strongest."
The woman sighed and turned off the tv "The world of Pokémon isn't as simple as that."
"You say that all the time..." the boy said annoyed
"How can you expect me to let you go off on your journey, if you don't even understand what your going into."
The boy frowned "Well..." he groaned.
"I know you don't want to be here, do you think all your brothers and sisters do?"
He turned to her with a solemn face "I.. We.. of course we do! We... we love you..."
She smiled "I know, but I also know, you don't want to stay here. It's cramped, the food isn't all that great and theirs no heating in the winter." She reached out to him with open arms, hugging him "If you really want to leave, you need to learn about the world your going into."
With teary eyes he hugged her tightly.
"Your the oldest, going on 7 now. Do you want me to teach you?"
His eyes gleamed, he nodded and held her tighter.
...
The woman and the boy sat outside on a picnic table. Little kids running around the small plastic playground placed just a few feet away.
"I'll give you a fair warning. This world, can be cruel. Pokémon and humans alike, are dangerous." She spoke with a worried tone.
He nods "I'll face it head on!" He stated.
She sighed and smiled "First lesson."
He sat and listened intently.
"You cannot brute force everything."
He tilted his head, confusion all over his face "But..."
"Pokemon. Are not just for battling."
His face scrunches, displaying his absolutely dumbfounded mindset.
"Pokemon are no different to us. We live side by side, together. We eat, they eat, we sleep, they sleep, we grow up, they grow up. Okay?"
"So... they also get older?"
"Of course. You grow with your Pokémon, that's why you become a trainer a 10 and get your first Pokémon from the lab. Bonds are everything in this world."
So we can get wrong together?" He said with starry eyes.
"I suppose..." she smiles nervously "But you shouldn't fight unless absolutely necessary."
"What? But... all those fights on tv, they battle, why can't I?"
"I'm not saying you can't. But..." she groans "Pokemon get hurt too. Do you like it when you get pushed?"
He shakes his head.
"Then why would the Pokémon? Of course their are Pokémon who want to get strong, but others just wanna live."
He lowers his head, as if thinking.
"Red!" A group of little kids come to the table and tug on his shirt "Come play with us!"
Red looked up and thought harder and turned to the woman across from him.
"You still have a few more years to get ready, if you really want to leave spend your time wisely."
Red frowned and turned back "Sorry... I can't right now."
The group whined before going back to playing.
He rubbed his head with a pout.
"Second Lesson."
He turned to her, seeing her smile warmly at him.
"Becoming a Pokémon trainer, requires growing up. You'll need to rely on yourself, and your Pokémon. You can't always expect people to help you out. You will have to responsible for yourself and your Pokémon, getting the food, making sure your warm, and even being prepared for any situations that may come up."
He gulps.
"It's sad but you may not have time to have as much fun as you used to. Money and food with be a priority. Along with keeping your Pokémon healthy."
He clearly shows frustration on his face but nods and regains himself.
"Third Lesson, and this is the most difficult one."
He stared, seeing her serious face.
"Pokemon can kill you."
He shuddered, not fully understanding the depth of what she said but he could feel it.
"Pokemon get eaten, killed, and disappear in the wild. They have vast amounts of power that can really hurt you. If you want to survive, then you need to be aware of Pokémon types, and what each Pokémon can do. I guess this is we're your battling comes in. But, even then, your Pokémon could die. You need to be ready to make sacrifices, for your Pokémon, and yourself."
He felt the weight of each word, he turned back the kids.
"There are fun times ahead on a journey. But sometimes, it'll beat you down. These are the burdens pokemon trainers all over the world have to endure. Do you think you'll be ready in a few years?" She asks in a serious tone.
He turns back to her. He lets out a small breath of air and nods "I... want to be a trainer. I will be a Pokémon trainer! I'll be the best!" He exclaimed.
She drops her serious face and smiles "I know you can do it."
...End of Prologue...
I just wanna put this in the water. I want to know if you'd be interested in this. Yes the main character is Red, then by that logic the other main characters are Blue and Green. But I don't want to follow the main timeline or any timeline really but make up my own. I want to take Red across the many regions, make relationships with new people and grow his relationships with old friends. The kind of logic I have is a kill or be killed Kinda world. Pokémon battles can and could end in a Pokémon's death, or even a persons. Like the battle at the beginning, if the flame on Charizard's tail goes out it dies, so by the logic of hydropump, water would wash the flame out, thus killing the Charizard. And since water is weak to fire it would hurt water type skins no matter how soft or smooth they may be, but it would affect their shells or any other accessories like that. For example Lapras shell, Charizard is said to have extremely hot fire, while it may not hurt the Lapras skin, it would heat up the shell made for protection, thus causing it to steam lightly and become scarred and scorched. Of course I won't have a lot of death(AT THE BEGINNING) but it's a possibility. If you think this could be interesting I wanna know, until then this will just be the beginning.
