The curtains opened, revealing a rock band. My eyes widened as I paid attention to them. The drummer was a thin Caucascian young Toon woman, who had plum hair that conceals her eyes, and purple lipstick. She wore a black & white striped shirt, light seafoam jacket, dark gray skirt, white stockings, and dark teal sneakers.

The keyboard player was a slim Caucascian young Toon man with short brown hair. He wore white circular earrings, an iron chain necklace with an iron padlock, light purple shirt, black leather jacket, blue jeans and dark purple boots.

One of the guitar players was a thin young Toon woman with light skin, blonde shoulder-length hair with a teal streak in her bangs and four pairs of eyelashes. She had two helix piercings in each of her ears and also wore pink eyeshadow. Her outfit consisted of a short, teal leather jacket with a crimson patch bearing a white skull on the back, a white T-shirt with the roundel of the logo of The Who on the front, a pair of deep burgundy jeans cut at the knees, a black belt with silver studs, and a pair of dark purple boots.

The other Toon guitar player and lead singer really stood out to me. She was gorgeous in my eyes. She had short brown hair styled into a pixie cut, freckles on her cheeks, and wore light purple eyeshadow. Her attire was a black sleeveless shirt with a white skull, torn crew neck, and triangular sleeves, a red plaid skirt, a white belt, and high white boots, paperclip earrings, three black bracelets on each of her wrists and a choker around her neck.

They played one of their songs, which sounded something like this:

Rock and roll is running through my veins (hey, hey)

Electric soul like wires to my brain (hey, hey)

I can't be wrong, don't need direction

I can find my way

Play it loud! Play it loud!

I got no time for turning it down

Play it loud! Play it proud!

I live it, I breathe it

Don't tell me I don't need it now

Play it loud!

Sorry I'm not sorry for being proud

Play it loud!

Turn it up until your speakers blow out!

The singer sounded excellent! I don't know how her vocal cords did it, but she made the song sound like a rocking good time. I was so transfixed by her appearance and singing voice, that I didn't see or feel Felix touching my shoulder, holding out my drink. Then he understood.

"You like that band, don't you?" he asked.

"Yeah, but who's the girl?" I asked.

"The one with the blonde hair with a teal streak?" said Felix. "That's Sam Sharp."

"No, the one that is singing," I said.

"Oh, that's Luna Futterman," replied Felix. "The founder of the group. They have been singing for a couple months."

"Futterman?" I was confused. "What kind of name is Futterman?"

"That's her last name," corrected Felix. "Her name is Luna. Kind of like the moon from Bear in the Big Blue House, or Princess Luna from My Little Pony. Only she has nothing to do with the moon or the stars, she's more into the rock n roll genre."

"Oh, ho, ho, ho!" I chortled. "I get it now. Sorry about zoning out right there. She's just so….so…."

"Cool?"

"Yeah, but she's...well...beautiful," I sighed.

"You sly dog," Felix laughed. "You might as well go backstage with her."

"I dunno," I said. "I don't wanna bother her or her band. I mean, how old is she anyway?"

"Twenty-four," answered Felix. "And you are…"

"Twenty-one," I said. "I know it doesn't look like it, but I am."

"Are you kidding?" Felix chortled. "I am like, nearly 100 years old, and I look like I'm 20!"

"True," I said. "Now before you ask about anything, I will have a cheeseburger with fries."

"Got it," said Felix. "That's pretty common. See you in a bit!" He walked off as I listened to the rest of the Moon Goats' song.

Play it loud! Play it loud!

I got no time for turning it down

Play it loud! Play it proud!

I live it, I breathe it

Don't tell me I don't need it now

Play it loud!

Sorry I'm not sorry for being proud

Play it loud!

Turn it up until your speakers blow out

Until your speakers blow out

Until your speakers blow out

Until your speakers blow out!

The audience cheered for their performance, even me, who was clapping wildly.

"Thank you! Thank you!" Luna shouted gratefully. "Autographs will be signed! Whoooo!"

That gave me a good opportunity to say hello before my food arrives. When the Moon Goats were signing autographs, I went in line. Now my parents have taught me never to cut in lines, regardless if you're a Toon or not. I was in the back of the line when I bumped into two other Toon girls.

The older girl has prominent buck teeth, which sport silver braces on her upper and lower teeth, and light brown hair worn up in a large ponytail with a small swirl at the end by a yellow scrunchie (presumably the hair tie), with two long protruding hairs sticking out from the center of her forehead.

She was dressed in a white sleeveless shirt, a yellow skirt with a checkerboard pattern, yellow socks with a line pattern that were worn all the way up, and brown shoes. She also wore three four flowers, one on her shirt, one on her skirt, and one on each shoe, that served as gag squirt-flowers.

The younger girl had white skin and long black hair, with bangs long enough to cover her blue eyes. She is very thin, and a bit smaller and younger than me. She was dressed in black and white, wore long striped arm sleeves and knee socks, a black dress worn over a striped shirt, and black shoes. Kind of like a goth.

The two girls looked at me, then the older one said, "Whoa, little guy! Try to watch where you're going! You could have been the line king right here!" She laughed. "Get it?"

I sniffed as I got up. The goth girl stared at me and said, "Are all men like this? The spirits say I can bump into an adult any time."

I shivered at that remark.

"Sorry about that," I said. "I was just waiting in line for the Moon Goats. Never met them before."

"Well, what a funny coincidence, young man," the older girl laughed. "The lead singer just happened to be my bestie! Lucy here likes her too." She pointed to the goth, who smiled.

"That's pretty cool," I said. "I'm Lincoln. Lincoln Loud." I held out my hand.

"Well, nice to meet you, Lincoln!" the older girl smiled as she shook my hand. "I'm Luan Ashmore. I'm a comedian!"

"I'm Lucy Aubin," the goth said.

"So are you two friends or something?" I asked.

"We're half sisters!" Luan chuckled. "And let me say, you have nice white hair! You remind me of Judy Jetson, if I'm white!" She laughed. "Get it? White? Like right?"

I smiled. "Yeah. I get it. You crack nice jokes, not gonna lie."

Luan smiled. "That's nice of you to say! How old are you, if you don't mind me asking."

"Twenty-one," I said.

"Old enough to drink, huh?" Luan said. "I got drunk once! It was awful. Reason? Peer pressure. Those things just get to you, ya know? Also, unrelated, but I'm twenty-three, so we're both almost even."

"Hey, Lucy," I said, noticing the goth not saying anything. "How old are you?"

Lucy said, "Sigh. I'm eighteen, though I look like I'm ten years younger."

"Been there," I said. We chatted until the line ended. Luan offered me an autograph book since I don't have one. I walked up to Luna and blushed hard when I saw her. Luna was quick to notice.

"Someone's got a crush, huh?" she joked. "Want a can of soda to wash it down?" She laughed. "Hey, if you want my autograph, I'd be more than happy to, mate!"

"S-s-s-s-sure," I stammered. She signed my autograph, then ruffled my hair.

"You must be one nervous young man, eh?" she chuckled in a British accent, then spoke in a normal accent. "And that white hair of yours. I've seen old people with white hair, but you must be old enough to buy yourself a nice little home."

"Y-yeah!" I said, calming down. Thank God I didn't nosebleed or something, because that would be awkward. "I am, and you seem to be a good looking girl yourself!"

Luna was delighted and hugged me tightly. "That's rad that you said that, bro! I have never been complimented like that since I was a little girl!" Then she got an idea. "Maybe we can go for coffee or something? Starbucks does sell good stuff!"

I smiled. "Sure, I like that! Name's Lincoln Loud!"

"Lincoln Loud? That's a handsome name for a handsome young chap like yourself!" Now it was Luna's turn to compliment. I smiled like a doofus. Meanwhile the other band members were watching.

"Seems like Luna's flirting with some kid," said the only male in the band, who's name was Sully.

"Something tells me he's not a kid, Sully," said the drummer, who's name was Mazzy. "What do you think, Sam?"

Sam just watched as me and Luna were chatting up a storm with Luan and Lucy. She stood in awe as she looked at me with heart shaped pupils in her eyes.

Now with you humans, you can tell that someone fell in love with someone if they smile funny, blush, get nervous, or make goo-goo eyes. But us Toons are a bit more exaggerated. Our eyes or pupils literally turn heart shaped. We do wild takes. We can howl like wolves. Yes, we're a crazy bunch.

Anyway, Sam watched us having a chat when Mazzy waved her hand in front of Sam's eyes.

"Hello!" Mazzy called. "Los Angeles to Sam Sharp! Are you in there?"

Sam snapped out of it. "Sorry," she said. "What happened?"

"You zoned out for a full minute right there," Sulley said.

"Did I?" Sam denied.

"Yes," said Mazzy.

"Yeesh," Sam stretched. "That's embarrassing." She got up to get some food.

Meanwhile, Luan, Luna, Lucy, and I were having a good conversation while I ate my food.

"And then, I forgot how to walk for a week!" Luan joked while the rest of us laughed along with her.

"You know, I felt great meeting you guys!" I said. "And made my lunch better!"

"Stop it, mate!" Luna chuckled while blushing. "You're making me blush up a storm with all of the nice things you said to us!"

I smiled when I heard her laugh. It was so contagious, in a good way.

"So what's your favorite band, Lincoln Loud?" Luna asked.

"Bon Jovi and Smooch!" I answered right off the bat.

"Nice!" Luna smiled a cute smile. "Bon Jovi was my favorite singer growing up! He inspired me to do the things I love."

"I dig into "Weird Al" Yankovic!" Luan said. "His stuff's amazing! I listen to that guy's voice on YouTube!"

"I like death rock music," sighed Lucy.

"Cool," I said. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna pay the bill." I put the money on a trained live duck's bill and walked back to the table. "Told you. Paid the bill on the bill!" We all laughed, then I checked my watch. "Oh, gotta get going. Time for my cat to go for a walk. When I walk back home."

"You sure you want to go ride in my car?" asked Luna.

"Know what," I considered. "I'll like that."

She dropped me off at my house a little later.

"Thanks for dropping me off, Luna!" I said.

"No problem, dude!" Luna smiled. "Tomorrow for coffee? At the Primera Taza Coffee House? You said you have a job, right?"

"Right!" I said. "Work on other shows like The Cat in the Hat, Gravity Falls, that kind of stuff!"

"Cool, dude!" Luna said. "And before you go…"

"What?" I asked, then she kissed me on the cheek. I was surprised. I only knew her for an hour and a half. "What was that for?" I asked.

"To thank you for being so awesome!" Luna winked. "Never have I even seen a man make me feel so good!" Then she checked her watch. "Damn it! Gotta go! I'm teaching guitar lessons and then see how I can be a TV star! Cheerio!" She drove off, leaving me with Stella holding a leash in her mouth.
