Title: The Girl I Mean To Be

Disclaimer: Yes, I own Sailor- *thwap* Ow... you didn't need to get violent. ~backs away from Naoko Takeuchi, who is holding Pluto's Time Key in one hand~ Okay, okay, I don't own Sailor Moon. I also don't own the musical 'The Secret Garden.'
Notes: This is another song fic, which I don't think is as good as my other one, and is also sort of ... pointless. Prolific, maybe. Oh, well, tell me what you think about it.

Usagi Tsukino sat up in her room, pencil in hand, staring at the blank piece of paper in front of her.
[I need a place where I can go
Where I can whisper what I know]
She hesitated, and then carefully used her pencil to draw a line, then two. Then she stopped once more, studying her paper.
She should be doing her homework.
[Where I can whisper who I like
And where I go to see them]
She carefully drew one more line, and then studied her paper again. It was coming together now.
A senshi meeting was in a half an hour. She needed to finish it before then.
[I need a place where I can hide
Where no one sees my life inside]
A few more lines gave the paper a new look. Five minutes had passed.
She had a date with Mamoru tonight. It would probably be interrupted by a youma attack. Then there was school tomorrow. If she didn't finish this now, she probably never would.
[Where I can make my plans and write them down
So I can read them]
She glanced at the clock, then back at the paper. Ten minutes had passed. This wasn't easy. She wished more than anything to be…
[A place where I can bid my heart be still
And it will mind me]
It was half done, now. Another five minutes had passed. Her thoughts wandered back in time, when she had first become a senshi. She was much different now than she had been then… but still she wished to be…
[A place where I can go when I am lost
And there I'll find me]
She was almost done now. She had ten minutes to finish and get to the temple. She wished she could go somewhere where time would stop for a while. She could catch up on sleep, even homework.
[I need a place to spend the day
Where no one says to go or stay
Where I can take my pen and draw]
She picked up her pencil once more and did the last few strokes, then studied the paper.
[The girl I mean to be]
Princess Serenity stared back at her, a slight smile tugging at her lips, eyes twinkling.
