Chapter 2:The Cedar Box
Jackie walked into the spare bedroom and took out a box.It was cedar wood and
had an insprition that read'To You I Belong'.The insprition was a poem thier
parents had taught them as child. The day his brother was married his parents
gave them both the cedar wood boxs with the inspritions. The boxes represented
that Jackie and his brother tia were grown up and going thier seprate ways,Tia
getting married,Jackie who was secertly becoming involed with section 13 and having
to travel. But if they had the box they'd always had a piece of eachother with them.
Everytime Jackie was gone again he always took the box with him.It made the home
sickness go away every time Jackie would hunt through the box that contianed the poem
and old family photos. They often filled the void that was often lefted there with the
hours of endless, lonely traveling he did.Phone calls helped but did little for him.
It seemed everytime he'd got off the he missed his family more. Now they were gone.
His father and Mother died of old age problems.A rough time but he got through it with
the help of his Brother and Uncle who he was now broading with.
Jackie stopped traveling for a couple years and worked in Section 13 instead of
traveling.
Jackie sighed heavily and opened up the box.He had not opened the box up until
the eve of his father's death.
Pictures layed flat on the bottom of the velet red bottom of the box.A stack of them
came up high to the middle of the box.A locker sat on top.
The locket had been his mother's and contained a picture of him and his brother at the
tender age of 5.It was a sweet dear picture of them. His brother was merely a year older
then 6.
He took out a baby picture of a 2 year old with rich black hair and the biggest almond shaped
brown eyes.It was Jade.A picture that was send to Jackie through a christmas card from his brother.
Now Jade was 11 and no longer the tiny quiet baby but an 11 year old child who was a tomboy and
and had the fighting skills of a 20 year old.
'How do I deal'Jackie wondered to himself
