LISA
No major evolution for the Ultimate today. However, stress relief can only do so much. I keep hallucinating from time to time, seeing tentacles, mouths, and even EYES appear all over my entire body! It's gross. REALLY gross.
And I keep hearing voices. Ancient voices. Can't make it out…but they keep growing louder and louder. Like Cory, I'm not sure how much longer I can hold the changes back with my magic.
On another note, we've begun running low on supplies. Thanks to the monster world, however, we're still fully stocked on Purple Peanut Butter for the Supersizer. But ever since Slappy took over Hollowville, we've been running incredibly low on Monster Blood. We could REALLY use barrels of it by now.
Thankfully, Billy Harlan managed to track some of that substance down, right in a new location that popped up: Adam Driver Middle School. He's coming with Cory and I to secure the Monster Blood, along with Monsty and Yolky.
As we enter the school and begin searching for samples to collect, I can't help but think of how there was ACTUAL Monster Blood Soup in the monster world. Like a Mega Mushroom powerup. THAT thought sends me to this new kids show that I caught on: Kids Big Chef Food Fights. Didn't watch it. Wasn't much of a fan of cooking.
And Monster Blood itself? THAT brings back some memories.
Back in the old timeline, I remember finding the can just outside Wagner's Novelties & Sundries. More like Very Evil Toys if you ask me. Back then Cory just encountered the Brewer Clone, our very first monster, and because both the goo and the blood was green, we thought that this was ACTUAL monster blood!
One kick into the sewers and escaping a pack of giant rats later, and I had my own fair share of monster terror. We met up with Evan, Andy, and Kermit only a few days afterwards, and we tried coming up with a good counter to the Monster Blood via the Supersizer. Back then, we called it the Super Scale Shot, but Kermit's shrinking formula wasn't of magic nature, so it failed.
Lucy also battled Cuddles the Giant Hamster with Hannah, and we were introduced to Monsty around Christmas. And Purple Peanut Butter would help complete our little project. One of the Very Special Guests, Matt Daniels, encountered it prior to our Horrorland expedition.
There's been many variations: The green blob original, the blue aquatic cloning superweapon, and the 12 Hour Trial Strength variant, which lasts (you guessed it) 12 hours. The Monster Blood has an expiration date, and the effects if ingested eventually wear off.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Cory did some mad science experiments and made Monsty grow by absorbing the Monster Blood! Yolky even has his full body thanks to being injected with the stuff! And even though we never fought its creator, Sarabeth, Max kicked the crap out of her granddaughter Veruca.
When coming across the first batch of Monster Blood in the courtyard, I vacuum it up with one of Billy's gadgets, then pour it into a beaker. Once it's full, I insert the beaker into the Supersizer with the beaker of the Purple Peanut Butter. Bingo! It's up and operating once again!
And suddenly, a splitting headache nearly makes me drop it! I groan and stagger back. Damnit! It's hurting even MORE now! It gets worse and worse every DAY!
I see only the usual creepiness. Eyes, tentacles, teeth, and eldritch voices. I only close my eyes and cover my ears. I still hear and see things, but a bit less now. Not sure THIS is gonna help either…
Suddenly, I sense something. I open my eyes and…I see a big glob of something flying right at the school!
"HOLY FU-!"
I bolt out of there before it lands with a big SPLAT! It's loud, too. Enough to attract the attention of the others.
"WOAH! We hit the motherload!" Cory gasped.
"Just in time, too! We ran out of samples to collect here!" Billy adds.
They move forward when, suddenly, we hear some growling from the green goo. And it glows.
"Oh God…" My eyes go wide. "I think I know what kind of Monster Blood THIS is…"
Only two blobs can be alive. And this is NOT the pink one!
The green blob begins rising, and soon, it begins FORMING into something! It's transparent too, and I see green lights form in the dark liquid. Then arms. Then legs. And then, a mouth as it lets out a ROAR!
Instantly, Cory recognizes this. It's the ORIGINAL Monster Blood!
"Remember ME?!"
"It…You can TALK now?!" Cory gasps.
"You can thank Sara's grandkid for spicing me up! And those docs for modifying me and fusing me with that Blob! It's made me even MORE hungrier than ever!"
"Veruca's alive?!" I ask. "Must've been a resurrection spell. Still…Monster Blood plus Blob…I got it! I'm calling you Monster Blob!"
"No cold weakness or expiration date is gonna save you NOW, weaklings! And what luck! More of me, right in this school, in those pets, and even that cute little ray gun of yours! Well, I hope you're hungry, because I sure am! It's eat or BE eaten!"
Monster Blob roars again before lunging, and we dodge the splash before he reforms. Yolky delivers a stretchy punch, only for the yellow fist to plow right through the green goo, unharmed as it pulls back.
"Mmmm mmmm! Scrambled eggs! My favorite! Hahahahahahahaha!"
MB morphs his fist bigger and slams it down! Yolky barely manages to avoid it! I juice Monsty up with some water spells, cloning him and making him fire high-pressure water and exploding bubbles at MB, who only absorbs the bubbles and morphs an arm into a cannon to fire them back!
Billy's own rifle does nothing. Monster Blob easily regenerates. His amplifications must be magical as well, since not even MAGIC affects him! The green gooey goliath begins growing to an even larger size with a laugh, then grabs some tables and eats them.
"POOEY! BLEH!"
He spits them out, and I'm forced to evade them as they smash on impact. No use with melee attacks. Cory fires his laser eyes, but the Monster Blob tanks it like nothing!
"You trying to FORCE feed me, punk?! I do the forcing around here!"
He then proceeds to puke out MORE Monster Blood, which he steps on to reabsorb when it fails to hit. Cory blocks some more with a magic barrier, then forms a spiked hockey stick.
"Come 'ere, boy! Put down that popsicle stick…"
Cory only whacks an explosive puck construct into Monster Blob, which blows up along with said puck. It only reforms pissed off.
"RAAAAAHH! You're becoming a real pain in my butt! And you know what I do with pains in my butt?!"
He tries pounding the ground, but Cory keeps dodging. The distraction is paying off. The Supersizer is just about charged up. Finally, the boys let 'im have it with magic, bullets, water, and throwing egg blobs. All going into that gaping mouth! Monster Blob moans as if full, but none of it stops. It becomes too much for him to absorb, and he explodes again. Yet just like before, he manages to regenerate.
"That's IT! I am gonna CRUSH you like a bunch of BUGS!"
He begins growing to a giant size, towering over us like a skyscraper while laughing! He raises a foot, and I see my target. Switching the charged gun to Shrink, I aim at the foot and fire! The purple beam of energy strikes, and suddenly, Monster Blob loses his balance!
"Woah, woah, woah, what are you DOING?!" He yells as he shrinks faster than he can grow. "No! I'm shrinking! SHRIIIIIIINKIIIIIIIING!"
His voice gets more and more high-pitched as he becomes nothing but the size of an ant. I only smirk as I stop the beam and walk up.
"Nonononononono, not the face-!"
SQUISH! It becomes nothing but a green gooey puddle under my sneaker, and I scrape it across the ground to wipe it off. A little freeze spell solidifies the goo before it can reform and grow again.
"There we go!" I dust my hands. "Another Slappy minion taken care of, and more fuel for one of our key weapons! Keep this dude in the freezer for me."
I toss the frozen green circle to Billy, which he catches.
"Guess he'll have to do better on this NEXT monster he sends." Cory adds. "Whenever that will be."
OH…THE TRUE MONSTER HAS BEEN WITH YOU ALL ALONG, DEAR MORTAL…
Oh crap, I'm hearing voices again. I try to ignore it as best as I can. Hopefully that doesn't lead to any foreshadowing…
It totally is, isn't it?
