MIRPO

"So…this thing is solar powered? Like a battery?"

"Yeah." Abe answers. "The Ultimate Amulet absorbs both sunlight AND moonlight. They're one in the same. Problem is, it's always cloudy here. It's like having a phone, and there's no working charger or outlet. Modern nightmare, ladies and gentlemen."

"I guess it WOULD need to replenish its power, since it DOES require seven powerful batteries." Billy Harlan adds. "But how do we recharge it?"

"The only place that we can go past the clouds. The Rayburne Observatory. Seems like the last place teleported to us."

"We have to hurry, too." Sammy says. "Cory and Lisa only have 24 hours, possibly even less, until those mutations are 100% complete!"

I only turn to him.

"What? Billy's brains are rubbing off on me, okay?"

Yeah, the sooner we stop this, the sooner the future is changed for the better.

"So…you SURE those panic rooms can hold them?" I ask Abe. "You still remember what happened to Lucy? They could be WAY stronger!"

"It's more reinforced." He says. "Trust me. Those two aren't going ANYWHERE."

"It's too dangerous for them to leave Dead House." Billy adds. " They've lost their human forms. And the amulet needs to be at full power for the cure to work. Guess the test drive pointed that flaw out."

The observatory appears just at the edge of town. We get there faster by portal.

"So…what's the plan?" I ask.

"It's the middle of the day." Abe says. "The sun's at the highest point. So we enchant the telescope, turn it into a giant magnifying glass, and try to fry the amulet like an ant. Only differences, it's gonna absorb the immense amount of sunlight, using the telescope like a prism crystal. After all, it's an amulet, not an omelet."

He keeps the amulet pocketed. We begin to approach the observatory when I notice that there's some people there!

"Hey, are those astronauts?" I ask. "I thought this place was supposed to be abandoned! I mean, it's bad enough that WE'VE been infected with this Lazarus Virus thing, and I sure hope this amulet can cure it, but-...wait a second…"

Once we get close enough, I spot something in those helmets. Not only do these astronauts have 1950s laser ray pistol guns, but they also have TWO heads!

"Uuuuhhhhh….." Is this because of the radiation?! Am I gonna get two hands on the same arm?!

"Gumbo!" One of the two-headed astronauts yells, holding up a hand. "Gumbo Gumbo Gumbo GUMBO Gumbo Gumbo!"

"What the…?" I nearly snicker from the language.

"Hold on a second…are those Zoromisians?" Billy asks. "Hang on, I gotta make some adjustments to the translator."

He fiddles with the earbuds, and once we put them on and advance, one of the two heads speaks again.

"I said HALT! This building is STRICTLY off limits!" It says. "What business do you have on this planet anyway?!"

"Oh, uh…" I stammer. "We're from Mars, Coronia, and Terra. We're trying to save Earth."

"What are YOU doing here?" Billy asks. "Shouldn't you be back on Zoromisis 12?"

"The new Furon of the Zoron Empire had stationed us here." The second head says. "We've been tasked with destroying any and all artifacts of power that threaten to challenge his rule!"

"WHAT artifacts?" Van Helsing asks.

"Silence, one-header!" The other Zoromisian speaks. "Speak only when spoken to!"

"You mean like right now?"

"Fellow two-header," The first one says to Sammy. "Have you seen any of these artifacts? They're said to be small and circular in shape, and their power activates when a special sentence is stated."

At this, Van Helsing seems stunned. And then he smirks.

"Alright, little space man." He whispers. "Get ready to play diversion."

"Wait, what?!" I gasp.

"We will NOT repeat ourselves!" The two guards say, eyes glowing green. "Have you seen any of the artifacts?!"

"Use the amulet I gave you." Abe says. "It's time for ANOTHER test drive…"

"Oh, you mean this one?"

The moment I pull it out, my eyes widen and I realize something. The amulet MATCHES the description!

"Oh no…"

"He's got one!" Two heads scream. "GET HIM!"

Van Helsing then whips out his guns, with both he, Billy, and Sammy opening fire on the guards! I narrowly dodge a laser bolt from them and duck for cover!

"Okay, come on, come on, what did he say the magic words were?!" I ask, pounding my noggin before it comes to me, and I gasp. "Got it! For the light of the universe, the stars are mine to command!"

Instantly, I'm armored in high-tech armor with cyan colors. Woah…so THIS is the Alien Armor!

"Woah! This is so COOL!"

I ready a disintegration pistol and leap out of cover, blasting the two guards and vaporizing them!

"Come on, we gotta get to the telescope!" He says, and we burst into the observatory. And MORE Zoromisians chase after us, able to leap and float around as if there's low gravity!

"The belts!" Billy notices. "Go for the belts!"

He shoots another at the belt, damaging it and making it fall to the ground with normal gravity taking hold. Van Helsing tries punching another in the helmet, but there's only a loud BANG, and he shakes his hand in pain.

"Agh! These things are more durable than they look!"

"That's alien material for you!" Sammy adds.

I activate my jetpack and fly ahead of them. I think I'm starting to get it. They don't know that Abe has another, so they'll go only for me! And I gotta say, my sharpshooting skills have really improved! Not bad for the best Martian pilot around!

I keep blasting like mad, luring the two-headed troopers away from the others. All I have to do is hold out until they manage to work their magic…

ABE

We manage to reach the telescope area, with Billy and Sammy standing guard as I rush inside. Perfect. I'm just in time. The sun is about to be in position.

I rush up to the telescope, enchanting it as I point it directly at the sun, the light beginning to pierce the clouds. And I place the amulet right where the eyepiece points to. In this state, it would be dangerous to look at the sun. Well, more than normally.

Sure enough, the light that hits the scope through the clouds starts to get magnified as if going through a magnifying glass. The light strikes where I laid down the Ultimate Amulet. And instantly, it begins to get powered up. And no matter how much it takes, it never overloads!

Finally, there's a loud powering-up hum, and once it reaches the highest pitch, there's a bright flash of green light!

YES! It's done! The Ultimate Amulet is 100% fully charged!

The enchantment fades away, and I pick the amulet up, donning its armor. I then rush outside, easily downing a surprised Zoromisian!

"Hey! I was gonna probe him!" Mirpo says. "Painfully. Then zap him. And disintegrate him."

"Super Cure is all good to go!" I say. "Let's get back to Dead House!"

"We have to hurry, too!" Billy says as we race out. "The twins only have less than an hour left! And that time is decreasing fast!"

I don't waste any time. I create another portal that the four of us leap through…and I find Dead House in ruins.

"What the hell?!"

Oh shit…more of the Zoromisians were here! And they seem PRETTY dead. One of the helmets is shattered, and the heads have blown up. At least everyone's okay…

"Jack! What happened?!"

"These two-headed alien guys managed to find us! And they wanted to destroy the amulets!" Jack states. "I mean, we DID manage to beat them and all, but…"

"I'm afraid we have a problem." R.L. Stine adds. "It's Cory and Lisa. Their transformations have been completed. And they've escaped…"

ESCAPED?!

"Oh…shit…"
