After a long, hard game of basketball, Heero and Duo decided to cool off in the locker room. They took showers, and after dressing in fresh, clean, non-smelly clothes, they felt much refreshed.
Duo was drying his hair with a towel when Heero slammed his locker shut. "See ya' tomorrow," Duo called, thinking that Heero was about to leave. Heero, however, had other plans.
He sat down on the bench, apparently waiting on his companion. Duo finished putting his waist-length hair up in a braid. "Do you want something?" Duo asked Heero, who wasn't going anywhere.
"Huh? Oh… no." Heero's response was strangely hesitant. Duo eyed him sideways.
"If you say so," he said, tossing the towel into his gym bag. He grabbed his dirty clothes and stuffed them in as well. Seeing that Duo was about to leave, Heero stood up and took a step forward.
Duo looked back at Heero. "What's bothering you, man?" Duo asked in concern. "You're acting so strange - for you."
Heero paled a little, and looked away in nervousness. "Um- I was just thinking…" he said, trailing off.
Duo motioned with his hand. "Yeah, and…"
Heero stepped a little closer. "I need your help."
Duo relaxed. "Another bad guy out there, and you're ashamed to admit that you can't handle him by yourself," he assumed. "I can handle that. I thought you wanted something… different."
Heero looked at him nervously. "Well, actually," he said, "I do…" As soon as Heero's arms came up to rest on his shoulders, Duo knew something was really weird. He shoved Heero away as he stumbled back over his own bag.
"No way!" he yelled in spite of himself. "Just because you can't find satisfaction in your own little princess slave doesn't mean you have to come to me!"
Heero suddenly looked sad. "I opened myself up to you…" he started.
Duo held up a hand to stop him. "Don't even finish that sentence," he said firmly. "I don't want to know. Just leave me in as much of the dark as you can. If you want to go yaoi, then you're doin' it without me knowing, thank you very much."
Heero looked away, and then walked towards the door. "I knew you'd never understand," he muttered as he exited.
Duo watched the doorway warily, even after the troubled boy left. "Always knew there was something wrong with that boy," he said to himself as he slammed his locker shut, picked up his gym bag, and went home.
