Pie
"I never baked a pie before," Harry said, making Hermione stop dead in her tracks. "I'm doing it right?"
"What do you mean, you never baked a pie before? How did this happen?" Hermione asked, continuing to stir the pumpkin purée on the pan.
"The Dursleys never allow it, and I guess I wasn't interested in it." Harry shrugged, before giving her a small smile. "Not until you came into my life and made me realise how much fun I could get."
Hermione scoffed, but she was feeling warm inside. She and Harry haven't been dating for long, but she always felt good when Harry says something sappy like that.
"How much fun can you have by just rolling the dough?" Hermione asked amused, seeing Harry measure the dough with the pie pan. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to make everything perfect for my girlfriend, who is a perfectionist but doesn't like to admit it," Harry replied, not once taking his eyes off the dough. "We're going to make a trellis?"
"Pumpkin pies don't have trellis," Hermione replied, trying not to be offended by the perfectionist comment. "We can make some apple pies tomorrow, they have trellis."
"I would love to have some, but they aren't much in the spirit of Halloween, are they?" Harry asked, coming near Hermione at the stove.
"Are you sure you want to celebrate Halloween? I know isn't a date you usually enjoy," Hermione said, turning the stove off and turning to look at him. "We can just skip the date."
Hermione would never make Harry do anything he wasn't comfortable with, but she couldn't help but love Halloween. But, if Harry didn't want to, she was going to spend the evening watching movies and eating all of the candy she could find at the supermarket.
Harry softly smiled at her, "I love how you would skip enjoying one of your favourite holidays just so I'm comfortable." He kissed her lightly, before hugging her. "I want this holiday to have a new meaning, and with you, I know I can do it."
Hearing his words warmed her heart, and Hermione quickly hugged him and kissed him with all of her love for him. Harry was one of the most important people in her life, and she was going to make sure he knew about it.
"I love you, Harry Potter, and you deserve the world," Hermione said with a small smile. "And also, all the pies in the world."
Harry chuckled, "I love you too, 'Mione. Thank you for teaching me how to bake a pie."
Hermione was glad to see him feeling good. She didn't know how their Halloween would be, but she knew one thing for certain: there would be a lot of pies.
