This story was written for my best friend Lina, just to say her how much I like her.
I translated the story for Ne-chan (who had never let lose ^-^;) ^-^
I just want to warn you, the story is very depressive and very short... It takes place two years after season two.
And one thing... I am a german girl, so don't get mad at me because of gramatical mistakes... I think the german version sounds better ^-^;;
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, unfortunaly Toei does...
Reflection
The room was dark, only lit by a small candle standing on a desk. Before it was a silhuette of a delicate girl who was watching sadly the dancing flame. Behind the desk the clearest starry sky extended miles for miles, which seemed to make fun of the girl's sadness. After a while the girl was looking at the tabletop before her. First her gaze met her identety card. ‚Mimi Tachikawa' was written there in big letters next to the ugliest picture she had ever seen of herself. She fell into thoughts. What tells her name about her? Who was she? Was she really this girl, this Mimi? Would she want to be her? Sadly she was staring into the stars. The neverending width, to pretty to be real, so painful pretty. And so unbelievable peaceful, quiet and everlasting. The stars never know pain. They never know past present and future, they just be. Since always, forever. She instead, she had always the stars will never have. Pain and sorrow, mourning, past, present and future. A terrible future. She had lost her belief in everything, even her belief for herself. On what does all the other people count? Friendship. The girl had given up to belief in this ideal, two years ago her faith cracked in friendship. Love? It was the same as with friendship, both transient and lying. Why? The girl reflected. Painful was the thought of the time where she believed in neverending friendship and where she hoped for strong love. Till her best friend went out with the boy the girl loved and wanted. Both ignored her after that and inside the girl something was broken. Irreperable. She cutted all contacts to others in one moment down, hided in her room. Vegetated more than she lived. Was eating almost nothing, lived like in trance. Displaced all, began to talk herself into believing that there is no humanity existing. She turned hard, went on the street, tried to win appreciation, even if she woulden't be aware of that. She blocked every try of her parents or her old friends to rescue her from this state. Her family couldn't stand it any longer and moved with her. They moved back into their old home, but it all went worse instead of better. She quit telling anybody anything. She stayed alone, showed the world her hard outside but inside she was getting even more vulnerable. Nothing changed her state, she was incapable to let somebody help her, but she also couldn't help herself. Looking into the stars she was drowning into thoughts. This night would have no end.
