We were innocent

by Hermonie

Sirius sat in his cell. The years long since passed had turned his flesh to gray, and his heart to stone. Perhaps sanity was a curse. The guilty walked free, and innocent rotted.

Satin, you know where I lie

Gently I go

Into that goodnight

Remus paced his small home, cold winds blowing through cracked shutters. He was all that was left. A dead race. Perhaps sanity was a curse. The guilty rotted, and the innocent died.

All our laws get complicated

Search for pleasure overrated

Never on our souls

Peter cowered in front of the dark lord. He failed again. He would have been better off dead. He should have been going insane in Azkaban. Perhaps sanity was a curse. The innocent rotted and cried, the guilty lived.

For what the future would hold

We were innocent

Innocent

Each in there own corner of England, the three living friends looked into space. The all were dying, out of famine, loneliness, guilt. Each needed aid. But they had betrayed each other. There was no one left to hold them. When James died, Sirius, Remus and Peter went with him. Life could never be the same.

Angels

lend me you might

I thought that all my life

Would get just one light

Sirius pulled at his matted hair. Agony was the only way to describe this place. or maybe living hell. The latter was more true. Remus believed him guilty, which made everything harder. He blamed Remus, now Remus blamed him. A vicious cycle.......

All those colors long since faded

And our smiles confiscated

Remus threw himself down into the cellar. The moon would be full soon. It always made him think about the past. It was living Hell. Transformations made him think of Sirius. He blamed Sirius for everything that had ever happened in his life, because, if it wasn't for Sirius, Remus would never know what if felt like to hate everything about yourself so much.

Never we were we told

We'd be bought and sold

We were innocent

Peter lay down, nursing his injured arm. Master had not been very happy with his failure. The boy still lived. Whoever said "What does not kill us makes us stronger" was insane. Pain was living Hell. God surely turned deaf ears to sinners, because his prayers went unanswered.

This prayer is falling tonight

List one on my line

Still anit go life

while confessions I instated

what the sinners contemplated

All three cried at night. The days of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs were dead. Nothing could bring them back. No amount of freedom, confession or gold could change that. And it wasn't only James who had left. Innocence was gone, weaving his wings of gold.....

never did we know

what the future would hold

or that we'd be bought and sold

no

Wings of gold looked down. He had forgiven all, believed all, and paid all. There time would come. When wrong would right and rights would live.

"Just wait. All in good time."

we were innocent

innocent

we were innocent
