This is a collab between myself and Redbat132 and is an alternate way that Lea would have shown Razer her artwork after some persuasion. This is from the story with Redbat132 and Alvaxerox on Deviantart and the story is called "The Blue Lantern Quest". You can find it on both Deviantart and Fanfiction by Redbat132.
After the story was done, she and I talked about how Razer would have convinced Lea to show him her art had Hal not been the one to go after Lea after she ran away in the original story and convince her to come back to the Truth Or Dare game. So here we are. :)
The Green Lantern Animated Series and Young Justice series both belong to DC and Warner Brothers. Lea belongs to Redbat132. I own nothing.
Reassurance From A Hero
The blonde Blue Lantern ran as fast as she could back to her quarters until arriving and curling into a ball. Lea felt her heart race and face flush so bad. Even felt like crying. If not screaming, first.
"Tell me that didn't just happen...," Lea muttered to herself. "I didn't run like a coward and humiliated myself in front of Razer for being rude."
Tears filled her eyes as she sank to the floor, not even opening the door when Hal knocked on it a moment later. "Kid, you okay?" He asked.
She didn't reply, too upset with herself and Hal was about to knock again when he decided that he'd check back on her later after she had some time to calm down. He only hoped that this incident didn't make her think differently of Razer.
When he returned, he told the others that Lea had not been feeling well and had decided to lay down for a bit while reassuring that the girl was alright and he would check on her later.
But what they didn't know was how Lea would be after she calmed down.
A few days later...
Razer noticed how Lea seemed a bit pensive about being around him and he wondered why. "Is she still upset over the time I asked about her drawings?" He asked himself. "But why would she still be upset about that when I'm not upset over it?"
"Don't take it the wrong way, Razer," Green Lantern Hal Jordan said, coming from behind. "Lea is just shy and a little embarrassed about sharing her work. She just needs time to open up."
"But it's been a good while, Hal," Razer said. "I feel that Lea is still perhaps a bit afraid of me."
Knowing that Razer has a point, Hal thought of an idea where he smiled. "Then, maybe there's another approach for you to do in making Lea open up to you."
"How?" He asked.
"By giving her an impossible Truth and Dare where she has no choice but to take the punishment that is sure in getting her talking to you without feeling nervous," his companion replied.
Razer grew intrigued. "I'm listening," he said.
Smiling before looking around to make sure it was just them, Hal whispered to Razer his plan. Once hearing it, Razer stared at the Green Lantern in disbelief.
"You cannot be serious," he said, unable to hide his surprise. "That is the punishment you and Lea were referring to earlier on your Truth or Dare game?"
"Yep. I happen to be an expert on that department," Hal assured him. "Just go for the following spots I told you about and she's sure to talk to you."
Razer looked hesitant. "Are you sure that is the best way, Hal?" He asked.
"Trust me, it is," he said. "It's the perfect way to show Lea you're not mad at her and it's a great way to bond with her."
Although still hesitant, Razer trusted Hal on the plan to give it a try.
"Very well. But this stays between us. I do not want Kilowog and Saint Walker to know about this," the Red and Blue Lantern requested. "Not only is my reputation on the line, but I don't want Lea to be embarrassed either. And I don't want to risk her running away again before I can quench her worries."
"I won't say a word," Hal promised. "I'll even keep them away from the area."
Razer nodded his head on that to show gratitude. With the plan settled, the Red and Blue Lantern had to figure out a way to get Lea to fall for the trap. "Hal, as much as I don't want to deceive Lea, I feel that may be our only option, but I know if I ask her to meet me in the training room, she will run away."
"I'll get her for you then," the Green Lantern said. "Though I'm going to owe the kid a big apology and a lot of ice cream for tricking her. Hope she won't be too made at me."
"From what you told me, I doubt she'll be upset at you for long."
Nodding, Hal went to get Lea, asking her to meet him at his private quarters to talk. "I'm worried about you, kiddo," he said. "Do you want to talk about it?"
She nodded. "Yeah," she said softly.
"I'll meet you at my quarters in five minutes then," he said, giving her a map that looked like a blueprint without words with a large X on one area.
"Okay."
He watched her go down the hallway and nodded. "I hope this works," he thought to himself as he really wanted Lea to trust Razer.
Lea followed the map and made it to the room, curious when she saw the door, but shrugged and entered the room, glancing around but seeing it was dark. "Hal?" She asked.
Suddenly, the door sealed shut and the lights came on to reveal the room was a training room and standing in the middle of it was Razer, waiting for her.
"Razer?!" Lea exclaimed, feeling her heart beat wildly.
"Hello, Lea. I was hoping we could finish off your little game," Razer stated, a knowing smirk on his face. "And this time, without leaving so rudely."
Lea gulped in panic, as she realized this had been a trap set up by Hal and tried opening the door. However, it appeared to be locked.
"Those doors won't open unless you finish the game," Razer explained, folding his arms. "So, if you want to get out, then I suggest continuing where we left off."
Although limited in her options, the blonde teen turned around and nodded in response.
"All right, Lea. Truth or Dare?" He asked, waiting for her answer.
She gulped, making up her mind fast. "Dare," she said, hoping it wouldn't backfire on her.
"I dare you to find a way out of this room before time runs out," Razer said, creating a blue hourglass construct for her to see. "Unless you want to choose truth instead already."
Lea shook her head, seeing what he was doing. "No way! I'll take the challenge!"
She wasn't feeling as brave as she was portraying, but she didn't want to let Razer know she was already doubting her choice.
He smirked. "Very well. You have ten minutes," he said, turning the hourglass construct upside down to begin. "Starting now."
Panicking on the inside, Lea hurried to the closed door and tried getting it to open...with her hands pulling on the sides first before considering the idea of making a crowbar construct.
Razer watched, both impressed and amused at Lea's attempts to get the door opened. He could see Hal and Saint Walker were right about the girl being clever, if not a bit hasty with her decisions.
Lea could feel Razer's steely and judging stare at her. "...I freak out under timed pressure," she replied without looking, still finding a way out. "And I don't want to damage the door too much."
"Well, either way, you best step it up," he pointed out. "You've got only eight minutes now."
"Already?!" Lea felt her heart beat more while looking around. "Ugh, there's got to be another way out!"
Razer stood there, just watching and silently smirking as he knew there wasn't another way out, but he wasn't going to tell the teen that yet.
"Come on...maybe there's a vent somewhere around here that can be my exit?" Lea asked herself quietly, already checking the room for any vent plus secret passages.
Razer checked the time after a bit. "Five more minutes, Lea," he said.
"Oh, come on! You're speeding the time up on purpose!" She exclaimed, still running around trying to escape. "I know what you're doing, Razer!"
"Oh, you do, do you?" He asked, smirking. "And what would that be?"
"You're trying to get me to tell the truth about my stupid behavior in not sharing my illustrations with you! Well, it's not gonna work!" She shouted in an upsetting voice, now having had enough of it and trying to construct a buzz saw plus safety goggles to cut open the door. "I don't want to choose Truth! I just can't!"
"Well, if you can escape here in the next three minutes, then you won't have to tell the truth," he said. "That is how Truth or Dare works, correct?"
Lea groaned, not answering that while still trying to cut open the door with the buzz saw. "Why. Can't. I. OPEN THIS?!"
Razer shook his head, noting the time once again. "One more minute, Lea," he said. "I suggest trying something else."
"Like what?!" She remarked, dropping the buzz saw construct and making strong clawed hands to open the doors instead. "Ugh! It's like opening an impossible jar without breaking it! What's this thing even made of?!"
"Some very strong material," he said. "And you have twenty seconds."
Not liking being pressured, she managed to construct a hand and smack the hourglass timer made by Razer. "Not. Helping!"
He cocked an eyebrow at her; already remaking the hourglass construct. "Ten seconds," he said.
As a final resort, Lea desperately used her power ring's ability to make a laser on the door. "Sorry if I break the door!"
But, to her surprise, the door didn't give and Razer saw the hourglass sand fall completely through. "Time's up, Lea," he said.
The blonde teen was speechless. She felt her knees weak and dropped to the floor in defeat. She didn't want to turn around to face Razer as tears began to sting her eyes.
He could sense her fear and he didn't like that she was so afraid of him. "Lea," he said, keeping his voice soft as he landed beside her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Did I do something to make you afraid of me?"
"...No," Lea answered softly, doing her best not to cry. "There's something wrong with me."
Razer reached a hand out and gently turned the teen's face to look at him, seeing she was on the verge of tears. "What do you mean there's something wrong with you?" He asked in confusion.
"I mean I'm a walking disaster who can't do anything right!" Lea responded, turning away to cover her face. "Ever since I started this space adventure, I manage to make a fool of myself and, instead of getting better...I keep getting worse. Especially to you. That's the last thing I want. Maybe...Aya made a mistake in sending the message to me. I'm nowhere good enough nor worthy of being a full-fledged Blue Lantern."
Razer's eyes widened and he knew at once that Lea needed a good dose of hope and self-confidence. He fell into thought before smiling as he recalled his conversation with Hal. "Well, I believe I know a way to convince you otherwise," he said.
"I doubt you do, Razer," Lea stated in a saddened tone, still not looking at the Red and Blue Lantern.
He smiled. "Oh, but I do," he said, his hands gently resting on Lea's sides now, his fingertips resting against the sides of Lea's stomach.
This confused Lea a bit when feeling that. "Uh, Razer? What are you doing?" She asked.
"Something that is quite useful in making someone smile," he said. "And also considered helpful to convince them that they are worth it."
With that, he began to quickly wiggle his fingers right into her sides, ribs, and stomach.
"EEEEEEEEK!" Lea squealed in surprise, covering her mouth with both hands while shaking a bit. She didn't know if this was actually happening or if Razer hit himself in the head. There was no way someone like him would know tickling.
Razer chuckled. "Oh? What was that?" He asked, a teasing note in his voice as his fingers began wiggling faster now, tickling the center of her stomach now. "I think the new Blue Lantern is very ticklish, based on the sound of that adorable squeak."
"Rahahazer!" Lea tried scolding her captor but seemed to fail with giggles slipping from her throat. "Knock it...Hehehe, off! This isn't yohohou!"
"Whatever do you mean, Lea?" He asked, still smirking as he used his ring to construct two soft feathers and maneuvered the feathers to tickle the younger Lantern's neck.
Around her haste in trying to escape, Lea tried swatting the constructs away from her neck, but that uncovered her mouth. Causing the blonde teen's laughter and struggles to grow more.
"You seem to be having some difficulty," Razer said teasingly. "Perhaps I should up the ante."
With that, he created two hands with his ring and they went to work on the teen's stomach while he tickled her ribs with his own hands and the feathers continued to tickle her neck.
"AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! RAZER!" Lea screamed with laughter but started to feel her captor pressing hard around her ribs which was causing slight ticklish pain. "OW! NAHAHAHAHAT SO HAHAHAHAHAHAHARD! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, IHIHIT HURTS!"
Razer immediately let up on the pressure. "Sorry, Lea. Is this better?" He asked, still tickling her, but making sure not to press his fingers too hard into her ribs. He didn't want to cause her pain, after all.
"YEHEHEHEHES! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, BETTEHEHER! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Lea admitted honestly, as her struggles grew less.
He then paused a moment. "Hold on," he said, using his Blue Lantern Ring energy to heal any pain she was going through as a result of him pressing too hard into her tickle spots. "This should help with the pain. I'm sorry again. It's my first time being at tickler."
Lea would have replied, except she was laughing as the energy tickled her. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THAAHAHAHAHAHAT TIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHICKLES!" She squealed out.
"Oh?" He said, surprised but delighted to know that. "I'll have to remember that for later on."
She almost got away from him then, but he caught her and she continued to laugh as he tickled her.
Razer smiled at seeing her laughter, glad to see she was becoming less stressed out. "Hmm, didn't Hal mention some tickle words to use, too?" He asked aloud, a teasing note in his voice.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, DOHOHOHOHON'T YOU DAHAHAHAHAHAHARE!" Lea warned, still trapped in her own uncontrollable laughing fits.
He smirked. "Oh, I do dare," he said, now forming two more feathers and using his ring power to remove Lea's boots, the feathers brushing over the teen's ticklish feet. "Cootchie, cootchie, coo," he cooed in her ear.
This made the blonde teen's laughter quadruple, before squealing and almost jumping out of Razer's hold. "AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO! RAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAZER, STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I CAHAHAHAHAHAN'T TAKE IT ANYMOHOHOHOHOHORE!" She pleaded as tears were starting to form in her eyes.
Seeing the tears in her eyes, he decided to show some mercy and stopped, but still held the teen in his grasp.
Lea managed to catch her own breath after letting out a few leftover giggles. She then relaxed enough to almost take a nap on Razer's chest.
He smiled. "Don't fall asleep on me yet, my friend," he said. "You have to tell me the truth, you know."
To keep her perked up, Razer gently poked Lea's underarms in a playful manner that made her giggle and struggle lightly again. "Eeeheeheeheehee! O-Okay, you win! I'll tahahahalk! I'll tell you everything!"
He chuckled and constructed a chair, taking a seat and allowing the teen to rest in his lap. "All right then," he said, before rubbing her back. "Lea, I promise you that I won't be upset. I just want to know the truth, okay? Please?"
Sighing softly, Lea nodded before responding. "Okay. The truth is...I was hiding my work from you because I was afraid of what you would actually think. You're more than some Double-Powered Lantern to me."
"Oh?" He asked, curiously. "What am I to you, then?"
Lea looked away sheepishly, her cheeks burning. "Uh...Well..."
Razer noticed her hesitation. "Lea," he said, gently taking hold of her chin and turning her face back to look at him. "You can be honest with me. You act as if I'm going to bite." He chuckled at this last part to show the teen that he was teasing her, hoping to help ease her nervousness.
Taking a deep breath, Lea smiled gently before responding. "You're right. I shouldn't have neglected your feelings about not sharing my work with you. I'm sorry for that. It's just your opinion means a lot to me because...you're my favorite Lantern hero of the galaxy."
The blonde immediately said that last part quickly where she covered her red face.
He blinked, before chuckling and gently taking hold of Lea's hands and carefully tugging them away from her face. "I'll admit, I didn't expect someone to admire me," he said. "But I'm flattered that you think so highly of me."
"You don't find it weird that I think of you as my hero?" Lea questioned, soon thinking of her words that just came out loud. "Next to Hal, of course. He's my favorite Lantern hero on Earth. When he told me the stories about you, I immediately became a fan and hoped you would find your missing lover from the moment I heard what Aya had to do to stop the Manhunter robots."
Razer smiled. "Why would I find it weird?" He asked, tickling her neck playfully to make her giggle. "And here I thought you'd be terrified of me knowing what I once was."
"Nohohohohoho! Hahahahahaha! I dohohohohohon't cahahahahare, hahahaha, about that!" Lea assured through her giggling fit, trying to pull herself out of his grasp.
"Good to know," he said, before letting her up. "Besides, I'm rather curious to see some...fanart? Is that what it's called?"
"Fanart, illustrations, sketches, you name it," Lea stated, rubbing her own neck sheepishly. "But yeah. I'd be happy to share my work with you."
He smiled. "Can I see them now?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah! We can see them now!" Lea said, going to the door to remember it was still locked. "...As soon as you get this door opened."
Razer nodded. "No problem," he said, closing his eyes briefly. A moment later, the door was opened by Hal.
"Hal? How did you...?" Lea questioned, slightly confused.
"I was standing outside the room being lookout the whole time," Hal answered the blonde teen's question. "Also, Razer opened the doors using his blue power ring. The ship responds to specific Lanterns to access the rooms. Or close them."
"Also, since this ship is powered by Blue Lantern energy, any attacks from that said Lantern have zero effect in causing damage," Razer added, smiling lightly while folding his arms.
This made the blonde teen blink in realization. "Wait…Is that why I couldn't open the doors with my constructs earlier? They were just being absorbed by the door?"
"Yup," Hal said with a grin. "You could have just opened the doors regularly at any time."
"Oh, duh. I feel like such an idiot," Lea facepalmed with a groan.
"No, not an idiot," Razer said, smiling. "A bit panicky perhaps and a little too hasty on some decisions, but not an idiot. With more training and patience, I have no doubt you'll be a good Blue Lantern someday, Lea. Or if not a full-fledged Blue Lantern, at least you'll be someone we can call on if we need help."
"I agree with Razer," Hal said. "You might not see it yourself, kid, but you got what it takes inside of you to be a good Lantern. You just got to dig in and find it."
Sighing softly, Lea just smiled and left the room to get her drawing book. "By the way, Razer, I think I got another drawing inspiration to try to do that relates to the Truth or Dare game we did."
"You do?" He asked curiously. "What would that be?"
"You'll see," Lea said, grinning back at Razer.
He smirked back at her. "I look forward to it then," he said before pulling Lea into a hug and ruffling her hair gently, making her smile and giggle while Hal smiled at this, glad to see the kid and her favorite Lantern were on good terms now.
