What Lies Beneath (The Toybox, Anyway...)

Notes and Disclaimers: Mortal Kombat isn't mine, Pokemon isn't mine. Also, I have nothing against Pokemon—I just thought about it, and those tiny old-school MK action figures, and this story just…happened.
Lightning crackled through the sky. Wind whipped across the courtyard.
Rayden and Scorpion faced off against one another.
"FIGHT!" Shao Kahn commanded. The two warriors circled and began their kombat, exploding into high-kicking ultra-fake martial arts action! (WARNING: Contains Small Parts. May Not Be Suitable For Children Under 3--Or Their Parents, Either.)
Suddenly, a large burst of lightning exploded overhead (don't you just hate when that happens?) Fazed, the two mighty stunt-man fighters looked for the source of the sound.
A rumbling, demonic basso voice echoed across the plains of Outworld:
"PIKA...PIKA...PIKACHU!"
"What--" Rayden began.
"--the Hell?" Scorpion finished.
It towered some seven-and-a-half stories high. It was immense, a giant yellow creature--they could only see its massive feet and part of its forked yellow lightning-bolt tail.
"PIKA! PIKA!" It roared, thirsty for kombatant blood.
The two men screamed louder than they would have thought possible, hitting pitches previously reserved for Britney Spears. Stricken with terror--and a sudden strange compulsion to get implants and start recording careers--they ran for their very lives.
"PIKACHU!!" the demon thundered. It was closing in fast. Soon Scorpion and Rayden would be mere squishy blobs on the bottoms of those terminally cute yellow rodent feet. And then...
The inevitable happened.
"Timmy!" his mother called from downstairs. "Put those toys away and come eat your dinner!"
Timmy smiled and put his older brother's action figures back on the shelf--the one he wasn't supposed to be able to reach. He sure hoped Trevor never found out. Not that his brother played with the toys anymore. Trevor had lots of cool stuff--like the Teenage Mutant Power Ninja Rangers, or whatever they were called. But these figures, the guys from Kombat Fighter, were Timmy's favorites.
From up on the shelf, Scorpion and Rayden managed sighs of relief.
For now, they were safe.
But they knew the demon would return...
-THE END?- Only If We're Lucky...
