Sick Torture
By: Chaotica
Devi smiled to herself as she placed the two screws on the table. She made sure they were pointed straight at the TV as she laid them out.
"Well Sickness, ready for another viewing?" She asked not taking her eyes off the blood stained screws.
"Leave me alone." The voice said. It now could only be heard in Devis' head. Just like before when Sickness had just been a picture. Now the little doll-monster-from-hell was a limp shuck hanging from a canvas.
"Oh come on, you wanted this. Why else would you have picked me?" Devi asked turning on the TV. All it got was static but then she hadn't turned on the VCR yet.
"Devi, listen, my offer still stands. We could do anything together! Just put my eyes back! You could do anything!" The little voice pleaded. Fear was evident.
Devi shook her head. "Nope. Don't think so. You gotta try harder than that." She lifted the tape for Sickness to see. "I got your favorite. I know you love this one."
"No! Oh come on Devi! This is inhumane! Not even my people would subject a thinking being to this torture!" The little voice echoed.
"Hey, who said I had to be humane about this? You made my life hell for too long. Now you get to feel it." She popped the tape in the VCR and grinned at the screws. "Be good and I'll get you a horror movie next time. You like it when I do that right?"
"Devi please! Anything but this! I'll be good I swear!" The voice called out as Devi went to the door. It paused. "Could you get 'Lost Boys' for me?"
"Stop trying all that 'come to the dark side' crap and we'll talk." She pressed the 'play' button on the remote. "Have fun Sickness!" She shut the door behind her.
The little table with a pair of screws on it sat motionless in the room. Other than that and the TV and VCR it was featureless.
The TV screen came to life with images other than static. Sickness felt real fear again as the film played on.
"No! No! Make it stop! Oh Father make it stop!" The little voice screamed in Devis' head as she painted. She put on a pair of headphones and let some music play to drown it out. She smiled as she put the finishing touches to the tentacle abundant monster she was painting.
Back in the locked room a six hour tape of 'Teletubbies' and 'Blues' Clues' episodes played on. Sickness was the only witness to these horrors. Only the dust-bunnies were there to mourn her.
