Guess what? I don't own monster rancher! In fact, I probably never will. Isn't that surprising?
The phoenix rose
We won, completed our quest
Moo is gone
I even got revenge on Naga
I should be happy
The legend was true
The phoenix was real
We should have remembered
A legend may be true, or it may be false
But usually something in between
I should have realized…
What was happening at the time?
Moo was attacking
Monsters were dying
People were scared
Under the circumstances, I guess I should be glad any of it was true…
What did people fear above all?
Death
As we traveled to find the phoenix, we battled
We killed many
Some fought to protect us
And died for it
Others
Far more
Died by our hand
We rationalized
Thinking the phoenix would revive them
So it didn't really matter much
Sure, we saved some
Pixie, for example
But all that ever did was show us
That our enemies were not really evil
Just misguided, scared and tricked
Golem thought Undine would come back again
When the phoenix rose again
We never tried to avoid a battle because of that surety
That it didn't matter
But all I can see are the many lost disks
Under the cold stars
The phoenix rose again
They didn't
In our own way
We did things no different then Moo
The lost disks are
Lost forever
All because of us
Well, wasn't that happy? I was just thinking about how all the characters believed so strongly in a legend, and got this.
