A girl stood on the top of her Junior High. Life has been so unfair to her.
In this world people are born with a power or quirk. Those with a quirk are able to become a hero. These heros save normal citizens and stop villains. However 20% of society is born without a quirk or quirkless as people like to say.
The girl was one of those 20%. Of course however, as a neive child, she still wanted to become a hero. Many called her crazy. Others called her stupid. Most though, called her useless.
These words have been said to her over and over again. Her friends left her when she was 5. Her parents abandoned her when she was 6. And her brother killed himself when she was 9. He was the only one who believed she could become a hero.
But now that he was gone, no one was there for the girl. No one was there to protect her, care for her, love her.
There the girl stood. Her red hair blowing in the wind as she walked the people below her panic. They began to rush finding teachers. Yelling at the girl that she was crazy.
These words flew right past her. She had gotten used to those who used them. She also had gotten used to those who spoke them. Many the same people once called friends.
"Phoenix!" A voice yelled behind her. She turned back only to see her teacher Mr. Sekijiro there. He was with some of her former class mates.
Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya, Axel Vase, Eijiro Kirishima, Zada Jackson and Sam Curtis. They all tried to talk the girl named Phoenix off the edge.
Phoenix turned and looked at everyone. Her bright amber eyes sparkled as tears streamed down her cheeks. This was the first time anyone has seen the girl cry. Many thought she was emotionless.
"Please step away from the edge Phoenix," Mr. Sekijiro asked.
"Why should I?" She answered turning back around. By now a crowd of students and teachers had gathered below her.
"Because, we can talk about this. We can get you help," Mr. Sekijiro said again.
" Help..."
"HELP!!! YOU THINK I'M THE ONE THAT NEEDS HELP!" The girl yelled. Everyone was shocked by the sudden out break.
"I am on this ledge because of you!"
"What do you mean because of you?" Mr. Sekijiro asked.
"It's funny that you didn't notice," Phoenix answered.
"Noticed what?" Mr. Sekijiro asked once again.
"The bullying. Since I came to this school, all I've received is bullying. Not just from students however, but also teachers. That's not even the worst part," she said as she reached into her backpack," I have gotten Death threats from those who you call future heros."
It was silent.
Minutes tick by but no one spoke. Finally breaking the silence, Mr. Sekijiro asked "who gave you those?"
"See for yours," Phoenix said throwing a folder at the group.
It opened mid-throw and paper through every where. The students began to grab pieces and looked at who signed them. They were shocked.
The majority of them had the name Landon Vesca. He was a popular kid with the highest grades in Aldera Junior High.
"Landon caused you this pain?" Mr. Sekijiro said.
"Yes. He might act nice but he's not. He has bullied me since I've began coming here." She answered.
"I promise you, Landon will get what he deserves. But please Phoenix, step back from the edge," He said again.
"No. I'm afraid I will not be doing that. Even if I come back, what then?" The girl asked. By now more teachers had arrived on the roof. Police were also on the ground with EMS in case the girl jumped.
"If you come down, we can get you help and tell your parents about how to help you," Mr. Sekijiro answered.
"Parents... Ha. I don't have parents," Phoenix said back.
"What do you mean?"
"Simple. My parents left me alone with my 16 year old brother when I was 6. He had got 3 jobs just to provide for us. Then 3 years later he killed himself. I found him in his room when I got home from school. He had overdosed with his depression pills. After that, I was alone. No family and no friends."
"Phoenix... I'm so sorry, but we can still help. I promise. But please what ever you do, please don't jump... We can get you the help you need."
"Sorry Mr. Sekijiro, but I don't think I'm going to need help."
Then in the blink of an eye, Phoenix was gone. People began to scream as the 13 year old fell from the roof. Her red hair was blowing in the wind, as she slowly closed her amber eyes.
Suddenly the screaming turned to large gasps. When the teachers on the roof looked down, they were shocked. There was nothing. No blood, no body, no Phoenix. I was like she disappeared from the air.
Over the next several weeks, police, detective, even the school was looking for the missing girl. However nothing was found. No evidence, not even a single clue on where she could be.
Eventually though, the searches stopped. Phoenix was pronounced died and no one questioned it. After all, who cared about a quirkless loser like her.
Mr. Sekijiro kept his promise and made sure Landon was pun. Not only was he suspected, but he was also forced to pay all the funeral and searching fees, since he was the main cause of it.
Just like that, the young girl was lost. Her body never found, and her mind never restored.
After all, heros where never there to save her from her family or to help her brother.
Heros are nothing more then villains.
It has been 3 years since then. Phoenix was lost, but from her ashes, Fox was born. I was determined to put an end to the hero and villain society.
That's how I came up with the idea for the Rose's Thornes. I found people with similar backstories to mine and gave them the love and family no else had.
Over time we grew and became a small organization, consistening of 9 members. Each of us have chose a Greek god/Goddess to represent us. Our pain, our pasts, our stories.
And each one of us will not stop until the heros and villains are all but destroyed.
Thank you all for reading this. Let me know if you would like a part 2. Have a good morning, noon, and night.
