A/N: Hey! This is a HUGE spoiler of the end of the game; so if you haven't finished it yet, then don't read this. But I encourage anyone else to!!! Oh, and if I get enough reviews I may continue, although getting more than 0 reviews IS enough. Ok, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy 9 or anything from it. This is just a story.

Garnet looked down upon the stage. One, lone figure stood upon it. The figure's cloak flung from him. He was standing, reaching out to her. It took Garnet a moment to realize who this person was. A single tear fell down Garnet's cheek. It was Zidane.

Garnet stood up and leaned over the balcony, forgetting for a second that she could fall. She swiftly turned and ran towards the wide, oak doors that kept Garnet from her love. Two arms guarded the door. Garnet looked to either side of her; Steiner and Beatrix were in front of the door. Garnet looked pleadingly but then realized that they were opening the doors for her. She didn't have time to say her thanks. She raced down the hall, down the stairs, pushed the heavy front doors open, and pushed her way through the crowd. She felt a tug at her neck and looked back. Her crystal fell on the ground behind her. She looked at it, then Zidane. She didn't look back at the crystal. She raced towards Zidane's open arms. She spun around in his arms until he let her land on the ground. Garnet looked into Zidane's eyes. She never noticed until now how much they looked like crystals. Garnet punched at Zidane's chest. Zidane then pulled Garnet into a tight embrace.

Garnet felt in place. She belonged here, in his arms.

"Garnet."

Garnet held on tighter to Zidane.

"Garnet."

"Garnet!"

Garnet sat up with a jump. She looked about her. Steiner was standing over her.

"Queen Garnet, the play is over."

Garnet looked down upon the stage. There weren't any actors onstage. Garnet stood up from her chair. She walked past Steiner and Beatrix and went through the wide, oak doors.

The End…
