Do They Laugh?
There you are,
My child
Of the Sea.
Walk forward slowly,
And feel
The
Wind in your
Hair.
Play for me,
Goddess of the Sea,
On your
Violin,
To charm my
Ears.
They don't recognize
You,
Ruler of the Sea,
And you hear their
Ignorance
Through their voices.
Listen: Do they laugh?
Do not worry,
My creation from
The Sea,
They'll find out one
Day your sacrifices
For
Them.
Do not slay
The little firefly
Who dares dart close
To your waves,
Unaware of her
Own powers.
Instead,
Paint us both
A vivid picture
Depicting your
Taming
Of the Wind.
Be brave,
Personification of the Sea;
The Wind will
Give you strength.
Lover of the
Wind,
You catch her
Kisses
On your waves
As she tosses
The poor,
Helpless firefly
Around in her rage.
And yet,
Those mortals
Do not understand
The danger to the
World
As they
Chase after and cherish
Fireflies.
As you stroll by,
You strain
Your ears:
Do they laugh?
You know you
Must
Drown the
Weak yet powerful
Firefly,
But how
Happy
She looks in the
World.
The end is near,
Descendant of the
Sea,
But do not worry,
For the Wind will come
And shelter
You from the
Glances and blows,
And bear you away
In her soft,
Protecting
Arms.
And together,
You cannot
Hear
The laughter
Of Death.
