Disclaimer: Andromeda belongs to Tribune, not me.
Andromeda's crew were on the planet Orin, celebrating its joining into the Commonwealth with its highest diplomats and officers. Everyone was enjoying himself or herself, except for Harper. He occassionally sipped his drink as he stared down at the table, a bit depressed. The past month had held repair after repair for him. He did love engineering and fixing Andromeda, but he missed the little bit a of a social life he had before his job aboard Andromeda.
"Why are you looking so down?" an unfamiliar voice asked from beside him.
"It's nothing really." He sighed, not even bothering to glance up.
"I'm surprised someone as good-looking as you isn't surrounded by admirers."
That caught his attention. He looked up to see a gorgeous woman. "You think I'm good-looking?"
"Who wouldn't?" She leaned against the table and smiled down at him.
"You're not so bad yourself." He was still a bit in shock that a woman was coming on to him.
The small ensemble of Orinian musicians began playing a slower song. "Do you like to dance?"
"Like it? I love it, baby." He hopped up out of his chair and led her out to the dance floor.
They danced the entire song. He noticed he was getting strange looks from the rest of Andromeda's crew. 'They're just jealous that I can get a hot woman,' he thought. He made sure to show her off to them several times while they danced.
"Would you like to go outside and...talk?" she whispered into his ear.
"Yeah. I'd really like to 'talk.'" They began walking off towards the exit together.
"Harper, wait!" Trance yelled from behind him.
"Not now, Trance. I'm busy," he said out of the side of his mouth to her.
"There's something you don't know!" she futilely attempted to get his attention.
Harper walked through the door with her at his side, smiling. He hadn't been in this good of a mood in a long time.
"Isn't it a beautiful night?" she asked.
The three moons of the planet were casting a soft glow on the garden surrounding the building. A plant that reminded him of a large morning glory grew on a lattice beside the door. The sweet perfume of flowers lingered in the air.
"Yeah, it is." He leaned up to kiss her. She obviously liked it, since she wrapped herself around him and deepened it.

Five minutes later...
Harper ran into the meeting hall, straight to where Trance and Beka were standing. "Oh my god! Why didn't anyone tell me that woman is not a woman?!? She's some sort of drag queen or something!"
"I tried to tell you that not all females here are females, but you wouldn't listen. You said you were too busy," Trance said.
"So, how far did you go with him?" Beka asked, obviously amused.
"Too far," he said, evidently disgusted.
"Yeah, I can see your hickies." Beka laughed.
He groaned and made a note to himself to go to Med Deck and get rid of them when he got back to Andromeda. "I actually thought I was gonna get some...with a gorgeous woman."
"Don't get your hopes up, Harper," Beka said.
"Thanks a lot, Boss," he mumbled as he returned to his seat. 'I'll get her back for that one,' he thought. It was back to staring at the table and sipping his drink for the rest of the evening. And telling any woman that came onto him that he was married...but Beka would be more than interested.
