The Poltergeist
The Poltergeist
Chapter 1
Ruthie was in school, doing her work like she always did. Her teacher then called to her...

"Ruthie, would you be so kind as to take these notes down to the office please?"

Ruthie, being the helpful person she is, took the notes and walked out of the room to take them to the office. As she was walking down the hall, she heard a noise behind her. It sounded like footsteps. Ruthie turned, only to find nothing behind her. She shrugged her shoulders, thinking it was nothing and continued to walk. She then heard the same noise again. She turned around again, only to find the same result as last time... nothing. Ruthie felt this chilling feeling overcome her, but continued to walk. All of a sudden, as she passed a garbage bin, it tumbled over. No one had pushed it over... it just... fell over... Ruthie, now a little scared, starting running to the office. A teacher stopped her, for running in the hall was forbidden.

"Why in such a hurry, Ruthie?" The teacher asked.

"I'm taking these notes to the office, Mrs. Smith," Ruthie explained.

"Ruthie... you know running in the hall is forbidden..."

"I know... I'm sorry, Mrs. Smith..."

"Well, be sure not to do it again, alright?"

"Okay, Mrs. Smith." Ruthie then continued on her way to the office.

At the office...

"Here, Mrs. Fox. These are some notes from my teacher," Ruthie said, handing the notes to the secretary.

"Thank you, Ruthie," Mrs. Fox said as she took the notes from Ruthie. Then Ruthie noticed the blinds at the back of the office rattling vigourously. There was no earthquake... the blinds were just... rattling... Ruthie didn't understand it. She stood there, gawking at the blinds. The secretary noticed this and turned to look at the blinds. The blinds stopped rattling the moment the secretary looked. She turned her head back to Ruthie.

"Is there something else you want, Ruthie?" She asked.

"No, ma'am, I'll leave now." Ruthie then hurried back to her classroom.

At the classroom...

"Okay, class, turn to page 128," Their teacher instructed. Ruthie did so.

As their teacher asked one student to read aloud. As Ruthie was going along with the class, a glass jar behind Ruthie rose in the air, not noticed by anyone. It was the moment that it fell that everyone paid attention.

"What's going on over there, Ruthie?" Their teacher asked.

"I don't know, Mrs. Mitchell." Ruthie replied.

"Well, maybe fifteen minutes after school would help change your mind."

Ruthie sighed. Of course no one would believe her. She was the closest person to the jar and the jar just wouldn't fall and break itself... something just wasn't right here... something peculiar was happening around Ruthie and she didn't know what it was...

To be continued...
