Gil Grissom was stressed. Even stressed was an understatement. His career just got flipped upside down. He came to work this morning as a CSI III and now he was just informed that his boss, Jim Brass, was moved to being a detective and now he is the supervisor of the night shift. Not at all where he saw his career going. His next stressor is that Warrick left the new CSI alone at a crime scene and she was shot. His job now was to find someone on the outside to investigate what happened because IA was a big no go in his book.

Sitting in his new office, the only person that kept coming to mind was Sara Sidle. He met her a few years ago at a forensics conference and he instantly found her endearing and extremely attractive. He initially thought she was just after him for a date, it wouldn't be the first time a woman sought him out at a conference. But after several stimulating conversations over coffee, everything from bugs to anthropology, he decided she really was beauty and brains. After several dinners and walks the conference was over. They traded emails and phone numbers and went their separate ways. They had kept in contact here and there. When Sara had questions about her cases or when he just wanted to check in on her.

He picked up his phone and decided to FaceTime her. After 2 rings, "Grissom! Hey! How are you? I can't believe you are even trying this FaceTime thing!" The only thing running through my head was, God, she's even more beautiful now than when we met! I know I have this cheesy smile on my face but I can't get it to stop. Shit, her lips are moving and I can't even focus enough to know what she's even saying. "Sara. Hey. I wish I were calling for a chat but I need a huge favor from you." After Gil explained everything about the situation, he quickly booked her plane ticket and she was on her way the next day.

After much deliberation, Gil decided he should be the one to pick Sara up from the airport, after all, he was the one who asked her to come help him out.

Sara Sidle was jolted awake by the airplane landing in Las Vegas. She never sleeps on airplanes but she was exhausted after coming straight off a double to catch the flight. Shocked. That's exactly how she felt when she saw that Gil Grissom was trying to FaceTime her two days ago. She honestly thought it was an accident. Between their busy schedules, it had been months since they had even been in contact.

Sara turned her phone on quickly to see that Grissom had sent her a text to let her know that he was waiting for her in baggage claim and to take her time, because he had taken the night off so that they could catch up before her shift tomorrow night. Suddenly Sara smiled. She just assumed that someone from his team would be picking her up. He definitely didn't have to take the night off just to get her and take her to the hotel that he booked.

Sara was suddenly nervous. Like butterflies in your stomach nervous. She had always had strong feelings for him since the first time they met. Their time at the American Academy of Forensics Conference was so much fun. After they met each other, of course. Meeting him was easily one of the best things that had ever happened to her. They instantly became friends. That is until he had decided to kiss her on their last night, after he walked her back to her apartment. After that kiss, her feelings flourished. They had kept in close contact until the last year, when both of their careers had suddenly taken off. Neither of them having a lot of extra time for long emails or phone conversations.

Gil was nervous. He knew he would be seeing her any minute, because he checked twelve times, her flight landed 20 minutes ago. He kept glancing as the escalators, and then around the room in case he had missed her. Another look at the escalators and he saw her. It was like his body knew the instant that she was in the room. She was beautiful. Her brown hair was several inches longer than the last time he had seen her in person. As he was admiring her, their eyes met. Her face lit up and she smiled that full smile that he fell in love with. Suddenly he couldn't think. He had a conversation all planned out in his head, what he would say, and suddenly as she was walking towards him, it all left his mind.

She arrived in front of him and all he wanted to do was pull her in for a hug. God, he had to fight his body. He was drawn to her. "Sara, I am so glad that you could come." She continued smiling at him and now he couldn't even form a sentence. Much less hold a conversation with her. All he could think was, "This beautiful woman is standing in front of me and I can't even talk to her. She probably thinks I've had a stroke." "Uh…were you….um…able to find your…uh".

Suddenly she spoke, "my luggage? Yes, I found it." While she continued to smile, all he could do was stand there, making a fool of himself. "Well, if you have it, I guess we should head towards my car."

The last thought that he had while they were walking to his car was, "I really thought I could actually control myself around her, hell I thought I would be fine working with her. I, Gil Grissom, am fucked."
