"Cass, you should join us!"
"No, no, Raps, I can't... I'm..."
"Blondie, CaSsAnDrA has to spend her time being a jerk."
"Eugene!"
Both girls had shouted at him, though Rapunzel dusted it off her shoulder while Cassandra didn't. "What, Blondie? She knows it." Eugene chuckled. Cassandra grabbed a hold of Eugene's collar, "Maybe I have a reason to be a jerk? Maybe because of dumb idiots like you that can't keep their mouth shut for two seconds?" Cassandra stared with anger in her eyes at the brown-haired man.
Rapunzel gently tugged Cassandra's dress, "Cass..." She frowned.
Cassandra sighed and let go of Eugene's jacket collar and then she sat down beside Rapunzel nearby the fireplace. "It's getting colder, can you believe it?" Rapunzel said, looking around the room in a daydreaming state. "Yeah, that's how weather works Raps." Cassandra joked.
Rapunzel let out a giggle of pure delight, "I know! I used to not know, but I do now! Thanks to...Eugene..." Rapunzel gazed at Eugene with a soft look of love. "Aw, Blondie..." Eugene's eyes slanted too and a warm smile crawled across his face.
"That's about the only thing Eugene's good for." Cassandra hummed; she may or may not had been joking about this remark. "Hey now-" Eugene went to speak but Rapunzel's laugh interrupted him, "You two! I swear! Can't get along for more than a minute. But I suppose that's what makes you two... You two." Rapunzel explained happily. "Yeah." They both agreed, which wasn't something they did often either, that surprised Pascal, because he turned to look at them.
Rapunzel hugged her knees and smiled, before turning to look at the crackling fireplace once again, watching the flames dance and waver beautifully in the air.
The tavern was warm, thankfully, as they had a nice fireplace in the room. Though it didn't psychically get cold in the room when the person walked to the doors and into them, it mentally chilled the room. It was Lady Caine, but she looked different. She had a gashes all over her face, neck and upper chest from where Varian had thrown the vase at her.
The bard that was there didn't stop playing his tune, but it did seem a little darker than when he first started playing it. "Lady Caine? Is that you?" The bartender looked closely at Lady Caine with disbelief. "Indeed." She sat down, her face scrunched up with anger.
"That little brat that swindled the money, and the vase, decided to throw that same vase at me and it cut me pretty bad. The kid escaped too." She replied without even anyone asking.
"T'next time I see him, he's going to pay. He's going to experience as much pain as I did." She added. "Are you sure? Lady Caine, you seem like you're going a bit harsh down on the boy..." The bartender frowned, but Lady Caine got in his face; "Don't question me, a girl knows what she's doing." She hissed loudly, alarming the bartender and making him step back.
"Trust me." Lady Caine laughed a villainous, dubious cackle...
"So, is that how she wants it?" Frederic raised his brow. "Yes, she... doesn't like the rules involving the juvenile thieves and their punishments, Your Highness... And she wishes to change them." Nigel bowed slightly before looking at the grey-haired king. Frederic murmured and shuffled in his seat,
"I can see from her point-of-view though, but I... don't know about this... With the amount of thefts and thieves themself, out on the street, one building won't be enough. It would cost fortunes to make enough buildings to rehabilitate these thieves." Frederic said.
"That's entirely what I was thinking, Your Highness." Nigel nodded.
"Leave me to debate over this, and I will call you when I have decided what to do on this matter, Nigel." Frederic waved him away. "Yes, Your Highness." Nigel bowed and walked off, leaving the king to stir his thoughts, or more so, Rapunzel's thoughts, into consideration and what he could possibly do to make what his loving daughter, that he also loved a lot, happy with the rules.
He knew he couldn't change all the rules to appease Rapunzel, but perhaps he could change a few; oh if only Arianna weren't visiting her sister, Willow, at this time, Then he could ask her opinion on this suggestion made by their daughter. So he sat, and sat, and sat, and sat, and sat...
