Like with my Arrow Lost Scene, this story sprang from a false memory concerning Power Rangers Zeo's 'There's No Business Like Snow Business", or as most old-school PR fans know it "The Episode With The Letter."

For some reason, I remembered Bulk and Skull being around while Tommy is lifting weights and Adam reads him Kimberly's letter. No clue why, blame the fact that I was a kid.

Even so, them being there in my memory got the wheels turning on a story, which though I was never able to write it in full, can easily work as a Lost Scene.

Enjoy.

Kimberly Hart was alone.

Sitting in her new apartment in Florida, she was trying to accept a lot of things. That she was far from home and friends, that she was no longer a Power Ranger, and that she had broken up with Tommy.

It hadn't been an easy decision, and even now a small part of her regretted it- especially doing it via letter, but it was done. Not like that made things any easier.

She knew he'd received it- Kat had called her a few days ago to let her know, as well as only slightly refrain from tearing her a new one. Kim couldn't blame her. She'd have done the same were the roles reversed.

If nothing else, she knew Tommy was being taken care of. Kat and Billy were taking him snowboarding, and even after that, he had the rest of the team.

Whereas she had no one.

Yea, Kimberly had mentioned finding someone new in the letter, but that was a lie. It was also one of the other things she regretted. She had her reasons for ending things, but it was so hard to put them into words, that saying she'd found someone else seemed the simplest way.

She just hoped one day Tommy would understand.

Suddenly, she was pulled from her thoughts by a knock at the door.

Kimberly looked at her watch- her roommate and fellow gymnast wasn't supposed to be home for hours, and she didn't really know anyone else who might be stopping by.

Slowly, she approached the door and peered through the keyhole- just in case it was one of Rita or Zedd's monsters trying to be polite before attacking.

But it wasn't. Although the person on the other side of the door was no less appealing.

Opening the door, Kimberly found herself looking at the last person she'd expected to see right now.

Eugene 'Skull' Skullovitch.

"Skull?" She asked, completely and utterly taken aback by the man's appearance- not just here in Florida, but the look on his face as well. Skull had always looked snarky to her, but now? He looked almost nervous.

"Hey, Kimmy... Mind if I come in?"

Kimberly looked outside, saw a car at the end of the driveway with another familiar face in the driver's seat. Farkas 'Bulk' Bulkmeier looked at her from behind a pair of sunglasses and waved before returning his attention to the comic book in his hands.

Odd as this was, the former Pink Ranger was more than a little curious.

"Sure."

She let her former schoolmate inside, then sat back down in her chair. Skull looked around the place for a moment before taking a seat on the couch across from her.

"What brings you all the way to Florida?"

Skull sighed. "Tommy."

That was the last thing Kimberly had expected the man to say. Bulk and Skull weren't exactly on great terms with any of her former team after all, and she was well aware that Tommy was with Billy and Kat.

"What about Tommy?"

The skinny teen looked at her sadly. "Bulky and I... we were in the Youth Center when Tommy got your letter... It was bad... Like, real bad."

"Kat called me already... She said he didn't take it well."

"That's an understatement."

He didn't say anything else for a minute or two, but Kim was still unsure of his motives. "You didn't really answer my question."

"Look, you and I, we've never been friends. I know that. Same with the rest of them... But I've known you a long time, and the Kimberly I knew wasn't the sort of person who'd dump a guy over a letter..."

Kimberly sighed. He wasn't wrong.

But he also wasn't done.

"Something about it didn't sit right, so I talked Bulk into taking a road trip..."

"Why? What does it matter to you?"

Skull sighed. "I guess... I wanted to know why you did it. And I know, you told him you got a new guy, but that didn't sound much like you either."

The former Pink Ranger had to admit, Skull was a bit more observant than she'd expected. Neither he nor Bulk had ever struck her as the sharpest tools in the shed, and yet they- or at least Skull, had learned a few things about her over the years.

"I just... I had to. For his sake."

That was closer to the truth than she'd admitted in the letter, but still not even close. There was more to it, things she could barely admit to herself, let alone to someone like Skull.

And yet, she didn't have to.

"Is it because you're not a Ranger anymore?"

Kimberly's eyes widened. She couldn't have heard him right. Or if she had, then this wasn't Skull. It was some monster in disguise trying to trick her. That had to be it.

"What are you talking about?"

The skinny man smiled. "Bulky and I figured it out a while back... When that monster erased your memories."

Kimberly remembered that. Scatterbrain, a monster Lord Zedd had created out of Adam's kaleidoscope, had erased the whole team's memories, and Bulk and Skull of all people had come to their aid...

"But it erased yours too."

Skull nodded. "Yea... But after a while, that wore off. Took a few months, but once it did, we remembered everything."

"So why not expose us?" Kimberly asked. "You were always trying to figure out who we were."

It was the truth. Countless plans and traps and other things the two bullies had done in their quest to learn The Power Ranger's identities. Yet all this time they'd known and done nothing?

"We thought about it for a while... But the more we did, the more we figured there was no point. Sure, maybe we'd get in the paper or something for telling the world who you all were, but then what? You guys were saving the city and the world, last thing you needed was everyone knowing who you were. So we kept our mouths shut."

If his being here had shocked her, the reveal that both he and Bulk knew the team's identities rattled Kimberly to the bone. She wasn't sure what to say or to think or to feel, but she did know one thing for sure.

He was right.

"When I gave up my powers, I knew it was the right thing to do... But once I got here, once it fully, sunk in that I wasn't a superhero anymore... I freaked out. I started to think of what would happen if a monster tried to attack me here, or tried to use me to get to Tommy and the others...And I couldn't do that to him. I had to take myself out of the equation."

"Do you really think Tommy wouldn't still come running if you were in trouble?"

"What do you mean?"

Skull stifled a laugh. "Kimmy, he loves you. A breakup letter isn't gonna change that. And even if it did, you two were friends, teammates. Any one of them would be there at the drop of a hat if you needed them. And I know you'd do the same."

"I can't... I don't have any powers. I'm just me now."

The skinny man shook his head. "How many times did you guys fight off those Putty things unmorphed? Hell, how many times did you guys have each other's backs before you were Rangers? I'm sure being a superhero is great and all, but outside of those suits, you're all good people. You care about each other, about the world... And that doesn't go away just because you don't have a pink spandex outfit anymore."

Rising from his seat, Skull looked over at Kimberly again and smiled. "You wanna know why I had such a crush on you?"

Kimberly nodded.

"It's because you had a good heart. You weren't some selfish brat or anything... I mean yea, you had your moments, but we all do... I looked at you and saw a good person. Probably the same reason you got picked to be a Ranger."

He wasn't wrong. Kimberly was honestly impressed with Skull- the man was on a roll. But he wasn't finished either.

"Look, I'm not saying you need to call him up and get back together. All I'm saying is, if the reason you ended things is because you're afraid, then tell Tommy that. He deserves to know the truth."

Skull looked at his watch and shook his head. "I should go... Bulk and I told Lt. Stone we were going to get coffee... That was two days ago."

Kimberly rose from her seat as the man turned to leave, and surprisingly for the both of them, she gave him a hug. He gave one back, then pulled away and noticed the tears in the young woman's eyes.

"Thanks, Skull... Sometimes you have a pretty good heart yourself."

He laughed. "Don't tell anyone. I got a reputation to uphold."

Then he headed out to the car, leaving the former Pink Ranger with plenty to think about.
