Peter looked around at the scenery as he walked deeper into the woods. It was still early but it was Mike's suggestion. He thought a walk would do him good, give him a bit of relaxation and peace of mind. Peter wasn't sleeping and they all tried to help in any way they could. Read a book, drink a cup of warm milk, meditate before bed, Peter even began taking melatonin, but even then, his sleep was never restful.

He let out a sigh and rubbed his eyes, walking along the river. Even though it was one of Peter's favorite spots, he kept his head down as he walked, exhausted and barely able to keep his head up to take in the scenery. As he kept walking, he began to hear something. It sounded like singing. Peter frowned, unsure if he was really hearing it right. Without thinking twice, Peter quickly made a turn into the trees, choosing to follow the sound of the voice rather than the trail he knew well. He climbed down the cliff side to get to the river and that's where he saw her. She was sitting on a rock, dressed in a light white dress, almost like a nightgown, and she dipped her feet into the water as she sang.

"Oh…" Peter said, straightening up when he noticed her sitting there. He blinked a few times and she was still there, looking at him. "I didn't think anyone would…I'm sorry…"

She looked up at him and frowned, tilting her head slightly to the side.

"Why?" She asked softly.

"Why what?" Peter asked, now confused himself.

"You don't need to apologize," she said, a smile growing on her face. "You didn't do anything wrong."

"Oh…" he said, looking down at his hands, now noticing that they had begun shaking. "Okay."

The girl let out a laugh and shook her head, scooting over on her rock so Peter could sit next to her. He debated it with himself again and again. On one hand, he was told to not trust strangers but there was something oddly familiar and entrancing about her. He didn't know what to do, so he simply kept his distance.

After a moment, she turned back around, looking at him with a smile. This time, she tapped the area beside her, cueing him to come. He frowned and dropped his head down, but went over to sit beside her.

"What's wrong?" She asked him, noticing his discomfort.

"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers…" he didn't even know what he was saying but the girl smiled and laughed slightly.

"But we're not strangers," she said. "Are we, Peter?"

Peter looked up at her.

"How do you know my…?" He asked and she shrugged, looking down as she kicked her feet back and forth in the river below them.

"We've met before," she said and the more she spoke, the more familiarity Peter was able to find in the voice, even if he couldn't place where he knew the voice from.

"You don't remember me," she said, smiling. Peter frowned and shook his head, embarrassed.

"That's okay," she sighed, turning her gaze back out into the distance. "I didn't expect you to, it was a long time ago…"

She looked back up at him, a smile growing on her face.

"I'm Luka," she said, holding out her hand for Peter to shake.

"I'm Peter," he said, smiling as well as he took her hand in his own.

"See?" Luka asked, tilting her head to the side, pulling her hand back. "Now we're not strangers anymore."

Peter didn't know what to say to that so instead, he just nodded. Luka let out a sigh and the two turned to stare off back into the distance.

They didn't say anything after that, only looking between the scenery and each other. Peter could feel as his heartbeat quickened, just by sitting there. After a moment, Luka reached over and picked a flower, pushing it into Peter's hair, the flower almost instantly falling out.

He didn't remember all that much after that. Not long after, Peter found himself asleep, the first time he had slept in days. His feet were in the river as he laid down, stretched out on the rock, his hair was braided and filled with wildflowers, and Luka was nowhere in sight.
