Darkness.

That's the first thing Obito could see as his eyes slowly fluttered open.

...Am I dead?

The last thing he could remember was shielding Kakashi from Kaguya's attack. Did they win the battle? They probably did, or else they would've been here besides me. At least I can meet Rin again.

Suddenly, a vague terror filled him. Would Rin even want to see me? I led the world she held dear to destruction!

He got up and decided to have a look around. This place seems strangely quiet. He was too busy thinking to notice the portal that opened underneath his feet.

It swallowed him whole without leaving a trace.

Obito's POV:

"Ahh!" I yelped as I fell face-first onto the carpet. Wait, carpet? Wasn't I in some sort of a void just now?

I stiffened. Looking around, I found myself in my old room. 'This isn't right!' I internally screamed. Running towards the mirror, I glanced at myself. My hair was raven black as if it had never been white. The scars on my face had disappeared as well. However, the most important thing was: no Hashirama cells!

Previous fear being forgotten; I began to explore my own house. Nothing seemed out of place. So, this wasn't any genjutsu either, it was all too real! Although something did feel missing... Aha! There they were, hanging on a night lamp, my precious goggles! Grabbing them, I quickly wore the object, letting out a sigh of relief. Oh, my beloved goggles, how I missed thee!

Just as I was cherishing the find, I happened to glance at a paper stuck on the wall. 'Don't be late: Mission at 8 a.m.' it read. I wondered what mission the Obito of this universe had today- WAIT! I gaped at the time. It was past 9:30 a.m. now! Oh dear, I was horribly late!

I ran to the training grounds as fast as my legs could carry me. I decided to not shunshin as it would raise suspicion. I had not known the jutsu at this time. Nearing the grounds, I could see my team waiting for me: Minato - sensei, Rin and oh no... Kakashi. It felt utterly ridiculous. I, a 31 year old Shinobi who started the Fourth Great Shinobi War, afraid of a 13 year old Kakashi.

"OBITO!" Kakashi shrieked, his eyes burning with the eternal flames of Hell. "Do you know what time it is!? Or should I buy you an alarm clock now, huh!?"

"Would you please quit yelling first?!" I screeched back, covering my ears with my palms.

He crossed his arms and glared at me. Oh, how I miss the older version of him!

"Wait... what was the mission about?" I mentally face-palmed for asking that. Hey, it wasn't my fault, the question slipped out of my mouth before I could stop it!

As I anticipated, the question further outraged him, shocking him even.

He grit his teeth together, "You- you don't remember... HOW COULD YOU!?"

Minato sensei slowly chuckled and told me the mission's objective again: Catching a ninken who had run away from it's summoner. That's funny. I don't remember doing this mission in my previous life. Has me being here changed the past already? And, just what is my purpose here?

Then it hit me.

I could fix the past!

Lumiere: I hope you enjoy reading the fic! I've read some amazing fics about Obito, Kakashi, Naruto and at times Sasuke travelling to the past in order to change the future, so I thought, why not try my hand at this? Also, I chose Obito to be the time traveler as he is my favourite character in Naruto. I will post new chapters as soon as I finish typing them.

Do let me know if you like the fic and my writing style, and please leave some reviews. I would love to hear from you all! :D
