Author's Note: This poem is a rewriting of the poem Annabel Lee by
Edgar Allen Poe. I tried to keep the rhythm and meter the same as the
original, but some things had to be changed to keep the poem
running smoothly. Praise and Flames may be mailed to Maxaholic47@yahoo.com I do not own Reboot, nor do I own the rights to Poe's poems. I do suggest you read the original.
Dot Matrix Lee
By Chica
It was many and many a year ago
In a kingdom by the sea
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Dot Matrix Lee
And this maiden lived with no other thought
Than to be a friend to and be loved by me
I was a child and she was a child
In this kingdom by the sea
But we loved with a friendship that was more
Than a friendship
I and my Dot Matrix Lee
With an alliance so strong that a virus
Coveted her and me
And so, a long, long time ago
In this kingdom by the sea
The virus blew me away
Chilling my Dot Matrix Lee
Then the blue villain again came
And bore her farther away from me
He shut her up in hiding
In this kingdom by the sea
But the virus just was not happy
Though he separated her and me
There was still a rebellion
In this kingdom by the sea
So the blue virus sent out his troops
Chilling, almost killing my Dot Matrix Lee
But my love she was stronger by far
Than those who were older than she-
Than many far wiser than she-
And all this while-
There was nothing, even deep down under the sea
That could ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Dot Matrix Lee
For the moon never beams
Without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Dot Matrix Lee
And the stars never rise
But I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Dot Matrix Lee
And so all the night-tide
I lay down by the side
Of my darling, my darling,
My life and my bride
In her bed there by the sea
In our bed by the sea
