Chapter 1: Just claimed me some victories, after wiping out some mercenaries

The weather was nice, sun was rising, bird were singing. It was a really nice morning.

A tent was set up, one from Chapter 3, near a campfire. One of which I managed to make myself. Currently, there was deer meat that was cooking over the fire, along with some fish, each on stick, cooking from the side.

What made this all possible was my character that I was using, Maven, the shapeshifting warrior lady… Yeah, this would seem pretty weird for a guy to be having a woman's body. I'll be honest, its strange at first when one looks at it in a different perspective. I admit, its a whole new feeling to adjust. At least its not permanent. Although I may have gotten a big nosebleed after… inspecting it more. The only thing that controlled my behavior was the character's personality. Strict, strong minded, and a thrill for the hunt. What's important was that she knew how to hunt and cook their catches. I was even lucky enough to know how to get a fire pit started too.

I took a piece of cooked deer meat and ate it. Tasted pretty good, though could probably use some spices. Although Maven didn't mind at all. In fact, I think she wouldn't even mind eating it raw… cause I think thats HER thinking that I can feel. I should probably be taking notes on this, speaking of which, now would be a good time to do some recording. Haven't done one in a while.

I pulled out my recording device and was about to record, but then stopped, realizing I was still Maven. Honestly, I felt that Agent Jones was more appropriate to use for these sort of things. So I quickly pulled up my screen and changed to Agent Jones (Jump 42).

"Reality Log UKR-7, its been a few days since I dropped in this unknown reality. So far, no signs of intelligent life, nor anything that represents civilization nearby. Just the animals and soft sound of the wind going by." I take another bite out of the meat, only to spit it out so fast, gagging as I did. "Gah! Ack!! Uughhh!!! Reality update! Bleh! Looks like Jonesy has sensitive taste buds."

I put down the meat for now, and grabbed a fish instead. After a few seconds of hesitation, I took a bite and thankfully, it tasted good. Phew! After a few more bites, and drinking from a small water canister that I found from one of the backblings, I pulled out more recording device again.

"Okay, *cough cough, thats better. Anyway, I feel that I should mention that this whole personality thing with these characters are somewhat similar to that Ainz character from Overlord. Outward, you're someone else, but inside, you're still yourself… with a hint of that other person's behavior going around. Its like driving almost, the car keeps going, but you have to be the one behind the wheel to steer it where YOU want it go."

I finished eating my meal and decided to pack up the rest. I stretched out my hand towards the rest of the deer meat and fish, and they quickly floated towards me and disappeared before they could touch hand. Another discovery that I learned while I this new reality. I can "Pick Up" items of all sorts and place them in my inventory. Or in other words, my Item Box. Yes, its like those Manga/Anime fantasy where the MC has the ability to hold items of any sort, no matter the size and no limit to it.

"For the last few days, I have been looking into my other characters that I can use."

Flashback in my head…*

"I have tried some of the other characters with abilities of their own."

I tried out Thor, the Thunder God, and my god. It was amazing! Godly powers "in the palm pf my hand." Lightning could be shot from my hammer, Mjolnir, and… I CAN FLY!!! Guess I won't be needing those Mythic items. Though I was surprised that as far as I flew, I didn't find anybody around. Unless of course I'm too high up and can't see from that high in the sky.

"After that, I practically tried every Marvel and DC character I had. That also included Thanos and The Batman Who Laughs. The last one probably scared me the most. Sure, Thanos is the Mad Titan has killed millions in the galaxy. Though he did more crazy things in comics if you ask me. But this Batman, *shudder, this guy was trying to corrupt every universe into something dark and twisted."

I then tried out what characters I had on me. Not just those from other franchises, but even those made from Fortnite itself.

"Ha ha ha, let me say, it was a wild ride just trying them all out. Strength, speed, skills, knowledge, ALL OF IT WITH ME! Even some of these people were different sizes rather than the same height. I'm pretty much a God with all this power! I am so OP!! I've never felt so alive in my life. This every fans' dream to do things like this. And yet, even with all this power, I still can't find a way to get back home. It's like I'm hitting a wall. Almost literally. Like something is blocking me."

*Flashback ends…*

"But I say again, I may be in control of the character, but their personality is shown rather than my own. Its like I HAVE to control them in order to move where I want. Not only that, but it seems that only those that are OG to Fortnite are the only ones that have very little memory of their life. Even Slone's memories aren't there. Although I'm pretty sure thats on purpose for her."

I was walking through the open valley once again, taking in the sun and still making my recording.

"There is just a lot of things that I still haven't tried out yet. Still need to see if I can use creative maps and find access to other weapons and items that are not in my inventory. I also wanna see if I can pull out other things from that I can use. Like maybe a car, or a plane, or maybe even a choppa. Sure, I can use a few characters to fly, but I would enjoy being on the ground for a while. Speaking of which, I still need to see how my Gliders work. Haven't found a use for them yet. Hmmmm, I wonder if I can use creative maps to build a house, rather than using the materials that I harvest…"

Sure, I tried building a house with the mats that I had on me, but all I managed to make was a small box building. Though I gotta say, making the door was easier than it was with a controller. A tent felt more appropriate for this situation I was in.

"I should also mention that the Battlepass that I found on the Big screen is still on season 2. Either its stuck or it still hasn't ended yet. The tab with the dollar bill, shirt, and pickaxe are the item shop, and surprisingly still resets every 24 hours. So thats good I guess. The last tab that I had a hard time getting must be the Career section, but all those achievements I made are gone. It's completely blank. Not that I cared or anything, I hardly look at it…"

I could feel worry grow at the idea that I may be the only living person on this planet. Can't tell if thats Agent Jones or me thats feeling that, could be both. Therefore, I decided to change into Midas to control my anxiety. As soon as I did, all the stress and negativity washed away instantly. Not sure if its heathy for me to use someone else to hide my all of that.

"Anyway…" I spoke with Midas' voice this time. "I must still acquire any information out here that can tell me where I am and how I can move on from there. At this point, I will take anything that-"

Suddenly, I spotted something out in the distance. It looked like… smoke! I took out a binocular to get a closer look, and sure enough, it was smoke. Smoke has to mean that there must be a fire pit, and a fire pit has people!… either that or Mother Nature is taking her course and burning the forest down. But this may be my only chance to finally talk to someone.

"Cancel that thought, I believe I have finally found a source that may enlighten me of my whereabouts."

With renewed vigor, I put away the recording device and began to run towards the smoke hoping to get answers, or at least get someone to talk to.

The travel took a few minutes to get there, but I was getting closer to the source. I was getting excited with each step I took, until it was replaced with concern. As I was getting closer, I could hear screaming. Soon the trees were cleared and I could see what appeared to be a medieval village, and it was on fire. I stayed hidden, while getting a closer look at what was going on.

Villagers were being attacked and taken by what looked like bandits. All dressed up in rags, random pieces of armor, messy hair and smell bad. I could see them looting homes and setting them on fire. I then saw one of them dragging some screaming poor young girl by the hair and another was about to kill a man with an axe.

I was scared and confused of what was going. I wanted to do something to stop this. Then suddenly, my body started acting on its own again when I started thinking about killing these bandits. I quickly pulled out a Thermal Scoped AR, lined up the shot, took a quick deep breathe, and fired.

*BANG!*

A single bullet bursted from my gun and went straight through the axe bandit's head. Blood coming out, following the bullet that went through his head. The guy dropped dead along with his axe. This caught the other bandit's attention. He was confused to what happened to his friend, but didn't have anymore time to think as I shot another bullet through his head too. The girl was released from his grip, and she quickly ran back to the man who I saved first. They held each other sobbing, a father and daughter perhaps?

There was no time to think. I needed to see if there were other bandits in the village. I came out of hiding and walked past the two. They were quick to notice me, but I just kept walking while giving them a quick glance. Midas seemed more focused on the task at hand, rather than the well-being of the people he just saved. Maybe thats why he's the boss.

As I moved through the broken village, I could still hear screaming and metal bashing against each other. Soon as I came into the clearing again, a few more noticed me.

"Oi, who's this? Did we miss one?" One of them pointed their spear at me.

"Forget that. Look what he's holding! Looks like gold!" There was greed in the eyes of the other who just spoke. I forgot that any weapon Midas touches turns into gold.

"Hand it over little man or I'll gu-"

*BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!*

All of them dropped dead from my shots. I may not be as big as them, but I'm the one holding a more dangerous weapon than what they have. I needed to end this fast before anymore people get hurt, or worse. I decided to quickly switch to my Drum Gun.

I ran through the village, gunning down any bandit that I saw. Villagers began to notice me, but I didn't respond to them. Or rather, Midas didn't. Then, I finally came to whom I believed was the leader of this gang. He wasn't alone though, I could see a few other men with him. The boss was big, holding a dagger in one hand, and a little boy in the other.

"Don't move! Take one more step and I'll kill this kid!" The ringleader snarled as he held the edge of the blade to the boy's neck. The kid was already in tears. I could see two more men with him, but I could faintly hear footsteps coming from one of the roofs above. There was another trying to get the jump on me no doubt.

"I dunno who you are and I don't care. You just ruined our raid, killed a lot of my men, and now you're gonna give up or this boy dies! Now drop whatever that is in your hand! NOW!!" He held the dagger closer to the boy's neck in rage. I did as he said, showing no emotion, while keeping my sidearm pistols on my two holsters on my chest. Good thing he didn't know what they were.

The footsteps above me stopped. Midas' quick thinking allowed me to come up with a way to end this without hurting the boy. I heard more wood creaking right above me to the left. I quickly summoned a Lever Action Shotgun in my left hand, spinning it to point up above, all while pulling a pistol from my holster on my chest.

With quick precision and some luck, I fired my shotgun, taking out the guy from up top without even looking. At the same time, I fired my pistol at the two bandits beside their leader. Each one was a headshot. A second later, I heard a body drop to the ground from up above. The boss looked completely frantic and enraged more than ever.

"You bastard!!" He was about to plunge the dagger into the boy, but was stopped when I shot a bullet in his right shoulder.

"Aaarrrgghh!!!" He screamed in pain. He dropped the dagger and released the boy, allowing the kid to run away. He grabbed his shoulder, glaring at me.

"I'll kill you!!" Using his left hand to grab the dagger he dropped, he rushed at me. I shot another bullet into both his legs this time. He fell to his knees, just about a few feet away from me. I was surprised that he was still holding that knife of his. This guy must pretty damn stupid because after those few bullets I shot at him, he still tried one last effort to kill me, which ended pretty poorly for him.

I grabbed his left wrist with my left hand after putting away my shotgun, gripped it hard enough for him to let go of the dagger, but I wasn't done yet. Oh no, not by a long shot. This guy and his boys killed some innocent people and think it's funny?! Not anymore! I squeezed his wrist harder and could feel his bones cracking, probably because my hands were made of gold. That gave me an idea.

I used my golden powers to turn the man into a golden statue. The effect began to start from his wrist and he noticed this as well. His expression went from rage to horror. He tried to pull his hand away, but I held on tight. Very soon, he was nothing but a scared, frozen, golden statue.

My god! Midas is one cold bastard! I should be horrified from what has just happened for the past hour! I just killed a lot of guys despite the fact they were the ones who were gonna kill these villagers. I should be sick for what has happened and what I did, and yet, I didn't feel anything. Nothing at all. Well, maybe a bit of comfort that the people were safe and those bandits were dead, but I think that was just me. The part that didn't feel anything was all Midas. Not sure if I should be worried about this or not. Last thing I need is for these characters to control everything I do.

I took a deep breathe to gather my thoughts and put the rest of my weapons away, but kept my pistol in hand, in case there were more.

I then heard footsteps from behind and doors creaking open. I turned my head to see the surviving villagers coming out of their homes and gathering together. Some were in awe, but I could see some fear in their eyes. Couldn't tell if they were terrified of my weapons or from watching me turn the bandit boss into a golden statue.

You know what? I'm glad I'm still Midas, otherwise I would probably freak out from this amount of people around me. One of them approached me, a short old man with a cane. I turned my whole self towards the crowd to get a better look, while still holding the pistol in my hand.

"Y-you saved us …" the old man was obviously sounded scared, but did try to stay brave.

"You're welcome." I put away my pistol, hoping to ease the tensions they were all feeling from someone who just saved them with dangerous, unknown weapons. "I've been traveling for quite some time now and have gotten lost. Where exactly am I?" I really hoped these people could help me.

"We're just a simple farming village near the port of Cyrkensia."

Cyrkensia? That… sounded oddly familiar. Where have I heard that name? My attention was then brought back when the old man asked me what I felt was a serious question.

"Who… who are you?"

I stared at the old man for a few more seconds processing what I should do. My real name is Nick, but the problem was that I was stuck with these Fortnite skins, none of which resembled me at all. Not even an Icon skin would help. Not only that, but these people already see me as Midas, and I can't just change my look right in front of them. It might only make my situation worse. I would just have to roll with what I have and think on what to do later. I held my gaze for a little longer until I finally replied to him, but with Midas taking the wheel once again.

"You may call me… Midas."

Author's Notes:

You've probably already guessed it by now, but this is a crossover with Fire Emblem Fates, but with a BIG TWIST! Rather than follow the main story the whole way through, we're gonna take this to a whole new different direction. This took me a lot to think about how I should continue and I now have a crazy idea on how I should proceed. Is there another fantasy or other franchise you would like for this story to get a crossover with? I'm thinking either Game of Thrones or Dragalia Lost (I'm really gonna miss that game). Or anything else that comes to mind.

Let me know what you think of the story so far in the comments. There's gonna be lot more going on than just fighting knights and samurais.

I'll be putting up the next chapter up soon.

Until next time,

Xademin12 out!
