hi fruits! OK, so im totally obsessed with A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN! So of course i had to write something. taking the last episode and doing my take on things after.

basically Carson went back to idaho with charlie but in my version he did not see Gretson kiss on the porch that day. So here goes...

New York had been a spur of the moment decision on Carson's part.

She never intended to end things with Charlie. Honestly thinking she could forget her time with Greta and the rest of the peaches. Life in Idaho would be as it was. Chores starting at day break then in the evenings sit in her favourite chair by the window to read Charlies letters from his time in the war. He loved her so much. She tried to find it in herself to be whom she was before she left but it was hard and admittedly quite lonely with Charlie away. More often than before she would have phone calls with her sister if just to have someone to talk with to pass the time even though they exchanged unkind words. she fought hard to stop herself dialling Greta's New York number.

Carson knew that the spark that had enriched her soul on the road with Greta and the peaches had not transferred to her old farm life. It was dull by comparison. Dare she say boring. Time spent with the peaches traveling from place to place playing the game she loved was her calling. She had always hoped she and Charlie would pull up stakes, sell the farm and travel the world or at the very least some more of America.

Life as a Rockford Peach was full of adventure and exciting new opportunities. The thrill of it all. The bar hopping, dancing, drinking, seeing movies and playing the game. The feeling of the wind on her face running from base to base. The butterflies in her stomach when she would rendezvous with Greta under the cover of darkness. The buzz she'd get after a few nightcaps with the girls.

Nothing on the farm or even making love with Charlie compared. She still loved him but it was different with Greta. Not because she was a woman but because she had awakened something in Carson that she thought had long since died…passion. Being away from her and back with Charlie felt like lying. It was as if she was cheating on Greta with Charlie and not the other way around. So she had to leave him, again. He of course was beyond devastated. Carson of course neglected to tell him why she was leaving him other than she wanted to play baseball professionally.

She had gained back her own identity. No longer was she tied to the name of her former husband Charlie Shaw. Now she was just Carson and she could be whomever she wanted to be. Having just arrived at Grand Central Station, Carson wasn't sure where to go from here, but she had managed to score a room in a reasonable hotel for a few nights until she had a more solid plan of action. One thing she was sure about. She needed to find Greta. Asking a passers by for directions she headed out to the street and into a taxi parked on the curb.

'Where to Miss?' the gentleman asked. Carson handed him the slip of paper with the address of the hotel on it 'nice part of town this is, so what brings you to New York?'

'Visiting an old friend.' she said trying as she might to contain the smile on her face.
