Like every day, Izuku was being smashed against his school lockers by Bakugo, the popular boy at school.

"Come on Kacchan, don't you have anything better to do than beat me up for not having a cool quirk?" Izuku asked plaintively, while Bakugo firmly grabbed his neck.

"I do it because it's fun, you fucking nerd!" Bakugo said, with a macabre look on his face.

"But I haven't done anything to you!" Izuku complained.

"Well yes... but just seeing your freckled face makes me want to beat it up!" The blonde boy replied. Just as he was about to beat the crap out of him, the class bell rang.

"Saved by the bell... but you'd better be on time for your afternoon beating, because if you make me look for you, you're going to regret it!" Bakugo threatened him, tossing him aside before walking off in the opposite direction.

As Izuku picked up his books and lifted his backpack, Denki Kaminari came over to help him. "I don't understand, why do you put up with him doing all this to you?" I ask him.

"Oh, I'm sure I was just in a bad mood... Bakugo is my best friend for life!" Izuku replied excitedly.

"Well... with friends like that, why would you want enemies?" Kaminari replied, as he helped Izuku up.

"Well... thanks for helping me." Izuku said

"Don't worry. But you should do something about it, you can't let him treat you like this all your life." Kaminari pleaded with him.

"I-I'll be fine, don't worry." Izuku finally answered, before taking his backpack to go to class.

This day was just like every other day in Izuku's life: 1 in 5 people are born without a quirk or superpower, and Izuku was one of those unlucky ones. For that reason, Bakugo attacked Izuku and made him feel less, because Izuku had an obsession to become a hero, despite not having a superpower.

Although Izuku didn't like Bakugo's mistreatment and abuse, he wasn't going to raise a complaint to the teachers. As children, Izuku and Bakugo were great friends, but that had changed since he discovered his quirk. Despite that, Izuku had quite a bit of respect for him, preferring to tolerate his abuse and insults in order to continue talking to him.

What neither of them knew at the time, was that things were about to change forever...

In the wrestling arena of the Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance, the championship fight between the two greatest fighters in the country's history was about to be disputed: Steel Jushin vs. Tiger King. The event had been staged in such a way that it would coincide with a rare solar eclipse that only happened every 20,000 years. Everyone in town was excited for what would be considered the match of the century...

...Everyone except one person.

Jackie Oaks was a major wrestling promoter. Since he was young he had become a fan of the sport, and his greatest dream was to become a wrestler himself, acclaimed and feared by the spectators. There was only one problem to fulfill his dream: his short stature. Fed up with being looked down upon and ignored by everyone, Jackie made up his mind to do whatever it took to succeed and fulfill his dream, even if he had to break the law.

During one of the wrestling tours, Jackie Oaks discovered an ancient papyrus describing a powerful golden talisman, which the priests of Anubis had given to Queen Cleopatra for her protection. Said talisman possessed the very essence of the Egyptian god, and allowed the wearer to obtain the powers and abilities of the Jackal god himself. Using his money and influences, Jackie managed to locate the amulet in a London museum, from where he managed to steal it without anyone noticing.

After much analysis and study of the ancient scriptures, Jackie discovered that the ritual of the amulet had to be performed on the same day as the eclipse, since the barriers between the world of the gods and mortals would be connected. Jackie could just wait for the eclipse to perform the ritual in some remote place where no one would interrupt him... But he just couldn't wait to show the world his newfound power.

Jackie looked at his watch: In a few minutes the eclipse would begin, and he could begin the ritual. The eclipse would only last about 20 minutes, but it was more than enough time to activate the amulet and make the world aware of his new form and his new power. "Soon... those fools will regret ignoring me!" He exclaimed with resentment in his voice, as he caressed the amulet and placed it around his neck.

As soon as the alarm went off on his watch, Jackie spread his arms, feeling the energy of the eclipse affecting the locket. "Anubis, protector of the tomb... Your time is now, the time of DOOM!" He exclaimed, reciting from memory the incantation he had read from the papyrus. His eyes began to shine in a yellowish tone, while a purple mist surrounded his body...

"Bakugo, there goes Deku!" exclaimed one of Bakugo's cronies.

"Deku, I told you not to run away! When I catch up with you, you're going to pay!" Bakugo yelled, propelling himself forward with explosions from his hands, while Izuku ran at full speed. He had wanted to go get some ice cream, but Bakugo thought he was running away and went straight to attack him.

Izuku was running as fast as his short legs would allow. He had to find a hiding spot fast, or Bakugo would find him and roast him alive. Luckily, Izuku had the idea of hiding in a nearby garbage dump to throw him off, but he knew it wouldn't be enough: sooner or later Bakugo would search the rooftops for him until he found him.

Desperate, Izuku made it to the back of the wrestling arena, where an agent opened the back door to have a moody call with someone else. Taking advantage of the distraction, Izuku managed to sneak through the door that the agent had left open, hoping not to attract too much attention.

Backstage, Izuku could hear everyone in attendance cheering and yelling for his favorite wrestler. To be honest, Izuku never liked wrestling, he preferred to follow real profesional heroes instead. However, he had to stay there until Bakugo got tired of searching or forgot about the beating, so he decided to stay and watch the fight.

As the match was reaching its middle point, which coincided with the beginning of the solar eclipse, Izuku approached the corridors where the fighters came out, to be able to see the battle more closely without any guard realizing it, getting to enjoy the event in his own way... until suddenly, a burly fighter pushed Izuku as he came out to the ring to confront the other fighters. Izuku tried to apologize, but seeing the fighter in question left Izuku speechless.

He was a huge humanoid jackal heading towards the ring with a menacing gesture on his muzzle. The jackal was 10 feet tall, very muscular and covered in brown fur. He wore a kind of black skirt with gold decorations, some sort of black cotton collar, with gold bands on his biceps, wrists and ankles. Mysteriously, his eyes possessed a mystical golden glow.

The Jackal walked into the ring, jumping over the ropes and landing in the middle of the ring, shocking both fighters. Running to the corner of the ring, the jackal let out a savage growl as he raised his fists, causing everyone to start applauding the new contender in the fight.

"You said that I was too small to be a wrestler like you… Well, what do you think now, losers?" the Jackal roared in a deep voice before grabbing Steel Jushin and Tiger King with his huge hands and lifting them into the air like they were toys.

"Wow… I didn't know wrestling matches were this extravagant…" Izuku said to himself, assuming that the fighter was actually wearing a huge costume, and feeling some envy at how big and strong he was.

"Jackie... Jackie Oaks... is that you?" Tiger King asked, breaking character as he became aware of the person behind the monstrous fighter.

"I'm not Jackie anymore... now I'm THE JACKAL!" The anthropomorphic canine declared. The gleam in his eyes intensified, before firing laser bolts that hit one of the audience barriers, leaving a huge burn in its place.

"Wow... The Jackal!" Izuku muttered. For some reason, Izuku was beginning to feel admiration for the fighter.

The Jackal walked to one of the edges of the ring, taking the top rope with both hands, and addressed the audience. "I will fight everyone who wants to challenge me, in an No-Holds-Barred Beatdown function... right here, right now! !" He threatened the audience, gesturing with his hands daring them to attack him. "Any challenger?"

A group of Steel Jushin fans, carrying a cardboard poster to support his idol, started booing him. Annoyed, The Jackal growled before launching a laser beam at the cardboard, destroying it. After that, The Jackal conjured a ball of fire in his fist and hurled it at a Tiger King poster, incinerating it in seconds. Clasping both hands together and suddenly separating them, the huge canine generated a powerful whirlwind that blew the spectators and their belongings out of their seats.

"Wow, impressive!" Izuku commented, marveling at the beast fighter's powers. If that was a costume, it was quite realistic, and somehow he felt envious of the powers he possessed, "I wonder what I would do with powers like that…" he sighed under his breath. However, something inside Izuku was telling him that something was wrong, as several security guards surrounded the ring, while the two wrestlers were baffled by the Jackal's powers. What kind of quirk was that?

"Stop!" one of the guards yelled at him. Amused, the Jackal simply waved his hand, causing the weapons in the guards' hands to melt away. With another gesture, the Jackal levitated the guards in the air for a few seconds, before sending them flying through the air to the upper seats of the arena.

"I have... ALL THE POWER!" He growled, pleased with himself, landing a heavy blow on Tiger King that knocked him out of the ring with broken ribs, and making The Jackal jump out of the ring, also hitting a cameraman and a burly fan in the ringside. At that moment, everyone realized that this part of the event was not acted, and people began to run around terrified. "From now on, all of you will kneel before me! HAHAHAHA!"

Chaos broke out: all those attending the arena began to run in terror, while the Jackal threw his huge hands at as many wrestling fans he found in his way. Everyone headed for the exit, while the other security elements tried to maintain order. Izuku ran towards the nearest exit when, in the midst of the confusion, he spotted a little boy in a red cap who was in the Jackal's path of destruction. The boy began to cry, causing the wrestler to growl in annoyance and about to slap him.

At that moment, Izuku didn't think twice, running to where the boy was, to grab him and save him from the fighter's attack. "Go away, boy!" Izuku ordered him, even though he was no more than 5 years younger than him. The boy, between whimpers, ran towards the exit where his parents were.

However, that gesture had been enough to get the Jackal's attention. He felt how the huge hand covered in brown fur wrapped around him and lifted him into the air, while he began to scream at the top of his lungs, until he ended up face to face with the monstrous fighter.

"My, my, my...so we have a little hero in our midst." addressed him in the same dark voice. Looking at him closely, Izuku realized that it was not a costume or special effects, being paralyzed when he saw his eyes shining with a golden and mystical glow. He felt as if the Jackal could see his soul and judge it, and he realized that he was on the verge of death. "Say goodbye to your life, insignificant mortal... You will be the example of what will happen to those who do not kneel before an almighty god like me!"

At that moment, Izuku knew that he was going to die, that he had seconds to live. He didn't oppose resistance and accepted his fate, being sad that he never said goodbye to his mother, and regretting that he had lived his whole life in fear of Bakugo. He closed his eyes...

But in that moment, a strong punch distracted the canine monster. "Everything will be fine...why? Because I'M ALREADY HERE!" Declared a familiar voice. It was All-Might, and he had come to save the day! The punch had been strong enough for the Jackal to lose his concentration, clumsily trying to block the attack and releasing his grip on Izuku. Desperate, Izuku did his best to free himself, falling behind the monster, but not before grabbing onto the Jackal's golden necklace.

The force of a second blow from All-Might was so intense, that the Jackal and Izuku went flying with force, causing the amulet to break. Luckily, Kamui Woods managed to catch Izuku in midair with his extendable wooden branches, pulling him away from the fight and directing him to the exit.

"NOOOOOooooo..." The huge jackal wrestler yelled, as Izuku made his way to the nearest exit, escorted by other professional heroes. What Izuku didn't see as he was pulled from the arena was the huge anthropomorphic beast shrinking and losing its animal features, taking on his normal form as Jackie Oaks. "Mr. Oaks, you are under arrest...anything you say may be used against you..." a policeman started reciting, as he approached him with a pair of handcuffs.

In a short time, the place was full of ambulances to attend to the wounded. Despite the hustle and bustle, Izuku was feeling fine, so he decided to sneak past the paramedics and headed home. After all, if he stayed any longer in the midst of all that ruckus, it was possible that Bakugo would find him. After all, he had just survived what he assumed were his last moments on earth, and didn't want to jinx it.

And meanwhile, the eclipse was nearing its end...

Izuku laid down on his bed to get some rest. He took off his uniform to put on more comfortable clothes: a black shirt and blue jeans with red sneakers. However, when he shook his pants, a small golden artifact fell from them: It was the amulet that The Jackal was wearing and that he had broken by accident. Unintentionally, he stored it in his pocket and hadn't realized until now.

Curious, Izuku decided to take a picture of it with his cell phone to search for the amulet on the internet... And what he discovered was that the amulet belonged to a museum in London, that there was an investigation about its disappearance, and a reward was offered for any information.

"I think I should call the police…" Izuku said. After all, the amulet didn't belong to him, and if it was related to that gigantic jackal, he'd rather stay out of trouble. Just before dialing, a digital image of the sacred scroll that had been stolen along with the talisman appeared onscreen.

By using his cell phone camera over the image, Izuku was able to translate the language easily. With just a few seconds left before the eclipse ended, the boy read the inscription aloud, while he held the amulet in his hands.

"Anubis, protector of the tomb... Your time is now, the time of DOOM!"

Suddenly the amulet began to shine with the same golden glow he had seen in the Jackal's eyes. The amulet made its way to his neck, the gold chain encircling his neck by itself before repairing completely. Realizing his mistake, Izuku tried to take it off, but a powerful force prevented him from doing so.

Izuku then felt a supernatural presence taking possession of his body, a dark entity as old as time itself. "Young mortal, you who bear the holy amulet and have recited the incantation, are now the one chosen to be the successor to the all-powerful jackal god Anubis! Now, renounce your current physical form, while your body is transformed into a suitable receptacle for the power of the god of the underworld!"

Startled, Izuku realized that his hand was covered in thick brown fur, while his bones creaked and expanded. His body was beginning to grow, and his clothes were changing shape and adapting to his new body. Somehow, his sleeves parted from his shirt, sliding down his arm to encircle his biceps and his wrists, the material changing from dark cotton to solid, shimmering gold. The top of his shirt became some kind of Egyptian bib, while his trousers became a dark skirt edged with gold.

Observing his arms, Izuku noticed that his muscles developed and increased in size, while his biceps became much harder and more defined, the solid gold band grew and adjusted to his new size. Now all of his skin was covered in brown fur, his hands were now gigantic claws, and despite the fact that his bones and organs changed shape and size, Izuku did not experience any pain.

"A God...?" Izuku whispered in disbelief. The young man wanted to believe that it was all part of a dream or a hallucination, but it was all too real. Seeing himself in the mirror, he realized that he was turning into the same monster that attacked the wrestling arena a few minutes ago, and although he should have been scared or upset... a part of him was actually enjoying it more than he could admit. At long last, his wish was about to be fulfilled.

On the other hand, another part of him remembered the monster he had seen in the wrestling arena, totally unhinged and drunk with power, destroying everything in his path. Izuku held his head terrified, he didn't want it to end like this! And yet, he couldn't help but look in the mirror with morbid curiosity, his huge body covered in fur, and his clothing turned into an outfit fit for an Egyptian deity.

As much as he tried to contain himself, Izuku let out a groan of pleasure, feeling how his body became more and more powerful every second. Her chest and his abdomen were developing rapidly, until his pectoral and abdominal muscles became rock hard and chiseled. Izuku ran his huge hands over his torso, verifying that his body had changed.

His neck grew much thicker, while his face changed shape. Her nose and his mouth became a canine muzzle, with sharp teeth and a rubbery black nose. His eyes, now glowing with a golden gleam, evolved to such a degree that he could see everything around him with amazing detail, and his ears picked up the sound of even the tiniest of insects. His green hair was fading, while his ears became pointed and raised, like an Egyptian jackal.

Izuku looked at his palm… and felt the enormous power that he now possessed. He understood everything, what once was and what will be, he had control of wind and fire, the sands obeyed his will, the forests grew or disappeared at his command... He could feel the souls of humans all around him, all over the city. "I... I have ALL THE POWER!" Izuku exclaimed, just like the Jackal did before him. Now he was six foot four tall, he had an enviably muscular body, and he felt that with his hands he could split a man in two.

"I AM NO LONGER IZUKU MIDORIYA... I AM MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN ALL THE HEROES OF JAPAN... THAN ALL THE HEROES OF THE WORLD!" The newly transformed Izuku roared thriumphantly, his deep voice echoing throughout the room. "STARTING FROM TODAY, EVERYONE WILL KNOW ME AS... THE JACK..."

"Izuku, darling? What are you doing locked up in your room?" Suddenly asked Inko Midoriya, Izuku's mother, and when she opened the door, she found... Izuku, who was just sitting on the floor.

"Nothing, mom! Everything's fine. I was just cleaning around." Izuku answered innocently.

"Are you sure? There was a noise coming from your room..." Inko wondered.

"Oh, it was the television for sure." Izuku lied. "I'm going to turn down the volume."

"Okay honey. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes, I made your favorite dish!" Inko said affectionately to her son before closing the door.

Izuku smiled... His mortal mother hadn't noticed anything. Activating his powers, the illusion of Izuku's human form disappeared, and the huge and powerful jackal god Anubis took his place. Admiring his powerful body, the jackal flexed his mighty arms in front of the mirror.

"I think in time I'll get used to this, Hehehehe..." Izuku laughed ominously. "In the meantime, the world should get ready for the arrival of it's new god... From now on, everyone will know me as The Jackal!" He roared, lifting both his massive arms in triumph.

The eclipse was finally over, and the amulet stopped glowing. The changes were now permanent...
