Aeris' Poem

Aeris' Poem, Dedicated to Sephiroth

What if I were to die one day?

What would they say about me?

Would I be a passing memory, forgotten once the grave was filled?

Would they remember me? Would they let my spirit live on?

What they do, what they think, I couldn't care less about.

Only one question would leave to be answered,

What would you say? What would you think?

Would you come to bid me goodbye?

Would you allow me one last kiss to take to heaven?

Would you let me live on in your heart?

What if I were to leave you?

That will never happen.

Should I die, I would leave this world.

But I would never leave you.

I would assume the role of Guardian Angel.

I would watch over you, day and night.

I would guard you against harm, against nightmares and all evil.

I would embrace you with my wings when you would be upset.

Love, I will never leave you. I've become a part of you, and you are a part of me.

My heart and soul are devoted to you, because I love you.

Should I die without one last goodbye...

I would replace that one goodbye with infinity welcomes, each morning.

I would keep you warm at night, and rouse you from your sleep at dawn.

I would float above your shoulders, and shield you from the evils of life.

I promise to love you forever.

Will you promise to love me?

If I died, would you forget me? Would you forbid my role of Angel and condemn me to the hells of the afterlife without your love?

Or, would you let me live on in you?

Would you allow me to protect you, to be with you, to stand at your side always?

I would never leave your side.

Would you let me stay?

Would you remember me after everyone's moved on?

Death may claim my body, but my spirit is free.

If you would let me, I will forever be with you.

You may not see me at times, other times you will.

When you feel the wind blowing, imagine my arms around you.

The wind serves as my embrace to you.

You may hear a faint whisper in your ear.

That is my voice, comforting your soul.

Promise me, Sephiroth...

Let me live on in you.

Until the day you come to join me again…

I watch as you mourn over me.

You blame yourself for my death?

You did nothing. Don't put the shame upon yourself.

My body is in that lake. My soul is right next to you.

My wings are wrapped around you.

Please don't cry…

I'm right here…

You remembered…
