"Why did you marry Tanya?" I asked.

My head was spinning.

What did he mean they were supposed to get divorced within six months of getting married?

He didn't say anything.

"I mean, only if you want to share..." I said.

"You're going to judge me," he said.

Huh! That bad, eh?

"Let me decide that," I said.

"Alright then," he said, "This is like going on a suicide mission, but here you go..."

I was really, really curious now.

"You know Tanya's father invested a huge chunk in my company," he said.

"Hmmm..." I said.

"Well, he had one condition - I was supposed to marry his daughter."

I stared at him with disbelief.

"I seriously needed that fund," he said, "Tanya seemed like a changed person. She was much better than how she was back in High school. I thought, how worse can it get!"

I was still staring at him.

"Soon after getting married, I realized it was the worst mistake of my life!" he said, "I realized I could live with a failure, but there was no way I could live with her! She was the same old Tanya! Whatever she had shown before the wedding was just a facade!"

"Everyday was a fucking hell," he continued, "I had decided I couldn't go on like that!"

Suddenly I remembered how frustrated he used to sound just before Tanya's accident. He was venting out his frustration on everyone.

"I know that we're not able to hit the target, but my question is, why?" Edward asked in the meeting. He was frustrated and angry for some reason.

"Well, Edward, I have shared the results with you before," Tyler said.

"Yes, I saw them, but it's not exactly what I've asked for," he replied.

"Well, the document has everything you had asked for," Tyler was also getting frustrated now.

"I had asked for five 'why's, and I don't see the answer for each of them," he said.

Well, to be honest, everything was indeed present in the document, and I wasn't sure why Edward was behaving very strangely.

I shook my head with disbelief.

Okay, I didn't know this guy!

The Edward Cullen I knew and liked had a brain, and this guy was an idiot!

I was judging him so hard!

Was I sure I actually liked this guy?

Was I wasting my tears for him?

"I see you're questioning your life choices right now," he smiled, "To be honest, I'd have been surprised if you weren't!"
