BPOV
Edward was all I could think of during the last week.
I realized the initial anger and shock that I had on hearing his reasoning behind marrying Tanya were slowly vanishing. He was an idiot, but apparently that wasn't enough for me to stay mad at him forever!
He hadn't tried to contact me again after I had asked him to stay away from me. We only talked during the meetings as usual.
I was finding it really difficult to stay away from him. I fought a lot with myself, but finally gave up and decided to call him.
"Bella?" he said as he answered the call immediately.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Ummm... Nothing," he said, "Just drafting some email."
"I can call you later if you're busy," I said.
"No... No, I'm free," he said.
"Ummm... I was thinking about everything..." I decided to go to the topic directly, "And you know, even if we give this a shot... It's still wrong!"
"I know," he said.
"She's still your wife," I said.
"I know," he said.
"And she's still fighting for her life," I said.
"I know," he repeated, "That's why I said there's no way I can make this right until she's out of Coma."
"The right thing is to stay away from each other until then," I said.
"Maybe," he said.
Maybe?
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Yes," he said.
"Are you really serious about me?" I asked. I had never found my voice so weak.
He chuckled.
"I have never been more serious about anything else, Bella," he said, "I don't know how I can prove it to you."
"I can't stay away from you," I said.
"I've already told you about how I feel," he said.
"But people are going to judge me..." I said, "For having an affair with a married man."
He sighed.
"And this is the reason I have no right to ask you anything." he said, "I'm so sorry, Bella! I wish I hadn't made a mess of everything. But if you ever decide to give me a chance, I promise I'll do everything in my power to make it up for you."
I never thought I'd ever consider starting a relationship with a married man!
But this was Edward! For some unknown reason, he had always held a special place in my heart!
"Do you want to come here... if you're free?" I asked.
