Prologue:
The Entity was bored
In hindsight, the ritual to give up mortality in exchange for literal eldritch, godhood level powers should have come with a disclaimer. Something along the lines of:
'Caution: By gaining this power you'll spend all of eternity floating in the void beyond the omniverse, without a physical form and with nothing to entertain yourself with.'
But…of course it didn't. When she'd stumbled across the ritual in something as cliché as an old, decrepit tome in a rundown bookstore in a small village; she'd thought it was a joke. And being the prankster that she had been, as well as being a 16-year-old girl, she'd decided to 'enact the ritual' to scare herself a little bit. Not knowing that it was real.
If the entity had a mouth anymore, she would've sighed. Her mortal self-had gathered the ingredients for the ritual and had said the words the instructions said to say, and, then there was a flash of light and she was here. She'd lost her physical form but had gained Eldritch level powers. Not that it mattered since she couldn't escape the void. She was sure that if she'd still had her mortal mind, she would've gone insane all those millennium ago when she'd first been trapped in this endless void. Luckily (depending on your definition of luck), along with powers that could shape reality itself (just not in any way that could lead to her escape, of course) her mind had been reinforced and sharpened. Her Intellect had been vastly increased, past that of any mortal in every known universe. Fictional or otherwise.
Yep. As it turned out every conceivable universe existed. No matter how 'realistic' or ridiculous it was. From the MCU to Lovecraft. From a universe where Greek Gods existed to one where the only difference from her base universe was the decision of ONE man to pick up a coin laying on the ground instead of leaving it. Hundreds of Trillions of possible universes.
And she could see them all. But she couldn't escape.
She knew that if she'd been in physical space, her power could shape reality to her whim. She'd be so overpowered that all four Chaos Gods from the 40k universe would be mere ants to her. She had to wonder if the reason why she had gained these powers and was trapped in the void was for some stupid moral reason. Like: "Nobody should have these powers, and if you seek them out you deserve to be trapped in a void of non-existence".
Which in itself was idiotic. Why create that book/tome and put it in the most cliché place possible if you didn't want a slightly sociopathic teenage girl to stumble across it?
When she got out of this, she swore she'd hunt down the other entity that got her into this mess and…
A tremor went through her…
Wait…
Not through her.
But the Void.
The Void tremored again and then started to shake. Literal nothingness started to quake as something shook what she'd been led to believe was nothingness. What in the fucking Void was happening?!
Something in her mind pinged and she stretched out her awareness. The tremors came from one universe. In one universe something was happening that was powerful enough to not only affect the omniverse, but the void that she was trapped in. So, she did what she could and located the universe the disturbance was coming from. And…
Laughed.
Of COURSE, it was THAT universe. Only the universe that was the MOST grimdark and stupidly overpowered could cause literal nothingness to shake and tremor.
Warhammer 40k. Or more specifically, the period in which the War in Heaven happened.
She watched with something akin to amusement as the C'tan and Necrons fought the Old Ones. Each titanic clash between the species caused the Void to shake. It was amusing, but ultimately pointless. The clashes didn't do anything to help her escape…
But they WERE doing something. The fabric of the Void was weakening. Perhaps if she prodded where it was weakening, she could…
Welp. Here goes nothing. It wasn't like she had anything to lose anyway. Worst case scenario was that she was atomised. But even that was better than being trapped in the Void.
Concentrating her mass, she threw herself at the area of the Void where it had weakened. And then she did it again, and again. Each time it weakened further, until; after the eighty eighth attempt she tore a hole in the fabric of the Void and fell through it.
She laughed, not paying attention to where she'd fallen. She'd done it! She was free of that hellish place! No longer was she trapped in that nothingness! Now she could fulfil that vow of hers to hunt down the bastard that had indirectly gotten her into this mess in the first place and…
Her thoughts trailed off as she finally looked around where she'd landed after escaping. Surrounding her was a kaleidoscope of swirling colours. And, arranged in that kaleidoscope, directly surrounding her was various portals of eldritch energy. Above each portal was a description of where that portal led. If she'd had physical eyes, she knew she would have rubbed them in disbelief.
Huh.
Maybe the bastard who'd gotten her into this mess wasn't so bad after all. After all, if he'd created that tome and ritual then he'd have known somehow she would find them and be trapped in the Void before escaping. Why else would he create various portals in the space between the Void and the infinite multiverses unless he knew someone, most likely her, would find a way to escape the Void and stumble across the portals? She'd have shaken her head if she had one. Crafty bastard.
Now she had a choice to make. What universe would she enter?
She floated past the portals, eyeing each description:
Worm. (Parahumans, Wildbow universe).
Nope. While it could be fun to fight Scion and the Endbringers, it would be too boring. Maybe if she was able to come back to this dimension after she was finished with whatever universe she chose to go to.
Naruto.
Nope. She despised anime. And she had no intention of being an anime protag.
Dragonball.
While it would be fun to kick Saiyan ass, she'd grown out of her Dragonball phase as a pre-teen.
Warhammer 40K.
This one took her longer to turn down. The stupidly OPness of the 40K universe would be perfect for her as well as provide a decent challenge. In fact, it was one of the only universes that could and would challenge her power. But…She didn't know enough about it to want to go there. And if Tzeencth or the other Chaos Gods found about what she was and where she came from and found a way to come to this dimension…
Or God forbid the 'Nids…
She didn't think anyone would be stupid enough NOT to realize how fucking terrifying that scenario would be.
Halo.
Same thing here. While it would be fun, if the Flood, (The second most OP hivemind in fiction after the 'Nids) found out about this dimension it was game over. So, she floated past this portal.
Marvel and DC Combined (DCEU And MCU, and the Comics combined universe).
Wait.
This was it.
A universe that combined both Marvel, DC and their respective comics all together in one massive clusterfuck of a universe? How could she say no! Especially since, next to 40k, it was the next most stupidly OP universe possible?!
She eagerly floated towards the gateway when she paused. What was she forgetting?
Oh right. She didn't have a physical form. She'd have to make one before entering the portal. Although she COULD make one once she was in universe, she didn't want to risk the powers that be that would undoubtably be watching see her do this. The more power she could keep secret the better.
Reaching for her power, she concentrated.
For the second time in mere minutes, she was surprised.
A mirror had popped up in front of her and for the first time she saw what her shapeless form looked like. 'Staring' (Quotation marks because she didn't have eyes to 'stare' with. Something she'd fix very soon) back at her from the mirror was a formless, black cloud.
So, this is what I look like at the moment, she thought, amused. Amy and those other girls couldn't make fun of her plain features, flat chest or frail frame if they somehow saw her now. Couldn't make fun of someone's body if they didn't have one.
But how could she make herself a body?...
And as if on cue, the instructions/idea of how to do so were suddenly in her mind. As if PUT there by a certain bastard…
For a second she swore she'd heard a faint, masculine chuckle.
Focusing back on her task, she took the new knowledge and used it to first make a feminine, featureless body. Like a store dummy but made of flesh. She then adjusted the hips to give the body more curves before she focused on the chest area. She thought about giving herself double D's or even going as far as giving herself F's but settled on a more realistic C Cup. She then added the vulva and other reproductive organs but made sure to make the body infertile by not adding ovaries. She wasn't interested in engaging in any sexual activity. She'd been asexual in her past and saw no need to change that now. And if she DID decide to go down that track, it was better to be safer than sorry. No crotch goblins for her.
Blech.
After doing this, she focused on the head and added eyes and changed the eye color to a deep purple, added long black hair that had a slight, wavy look, pouty lips and shaped the head to a heart shape with high cheekbones. She then modified the body so she never had to use the bathroom or eat/drink to sustain herself. Although she made sure she could eat/drink if she wanted to. Food was one of the few true joys in her old life and she didn't want to take that away from herself if she could. After looking over her new body she made sure to add the appropriate amount of muscle, not too much as to be visibly muscley; but enough that it made the body more physically attractive.
Just because she wasn't interested in sex, or any related activities didn't mean she still wasn't a teenage girl who had been bullied her entire teenage and childhood for her looks and who had suddenly found herself with power able to change her appearance and make sure she never had that happen again.
Finally, she aged the body up so it was in its early twenties (She could get people to take her more seriously if she looked like an adult, even with her OP Godlike powers) and then turned towards what she'd wear.
She added modest underwear and a fitting bra (she'd buy more clothes in universe, of course. She just didn't want to appear wherever the portal dumped her in universe completely nude) before creating a pair of hip – hugging, black jeans and a red tank top and black leather jacket with a grinning skull on it. She added plain black joggers (with socks. She wasn't one of THOSE people after all), red, fingerless gloves and a top hat much like Death of the Endless famously wore.
If it wasn't obvious, she LOVED red and black.
She paused to double check her new body and smiled in satisfaction. Perfect white teeth reflected back at her. She then spent several minutes taking deep breathes (there was oxygen here?, huh!) and twisted her body this way and that, making sure everything was alright before stepping through the portal and into her new world.
Now. She just had to think up a name and background…
Authors Notes:
Hey Guys! So, this is my FIRST fanfic, so go easy on me, okay ?
If you can't tell the main Protag will be a Mary Sue and ridiculously OP. This isn't a mistake. Or a serious Fic. More of a Crack fic than anything. I'm also planning on making this a long fic with MANY sequels (Hence the mentions of other universes). So remember: .NOT. .FIC
Got it? Okie dokie ?
P.S: I won't be uploading all that regularly either. I've got a fulltime job atm that leaves me pretty fucked during the week. I WILL update this story with new chapters as much as I can but...yep. Otherwise I hope you enjoy reading!
